just seen this fight from last night. dillian looked excellent with his short left hands to head and body but his looping right is awful!.... eubank senior stylee!

the ref was atrocious. watch the fight. you will see him clearly count to 10 twice in the 2nd round and let tann continue. and again in the 3rd. what a dick.

I laughed at it, he wouldn't let him quit.

I don't know why the bloke was even in there if he didn't want to fight.

Whyte looked trimmer than he has in the past but the commentators said he was actually at a career high weight.

The ref should have stopped it, by the book.
But I liked what he did. The lad was clearly looking for the ref to quit for him so he could put on a brave face. The ref obviously just thought, if you want to quit just stay on the fvcking ground, I'm not saving you the embarrassment.

With Whyte over there in the states and calling out Wilder, I'd really like to see him in with Jarell Miller in his next bout.

Watched Miller in with Washington yesterday and this could be another Chisora vs Whyte type affair.
Miller is huge, and comes looking for a war by the looks of things. Would be a really good test and wouldn't be a bad eliminator for a shot

I dont see why should ref participate in fighters charade. If he wanted out he should have stayed down. If he got up in ten(ish) then he needs to continue. You stop a fight under those circumstances and you have half a forum complain about early stoppage. Just check out Chisora Scott thread.

Whyte did not look great, was taking full blown rights bang on a chin. But the entire bout was meaningless so.

He actually got to 9 each time - I for once agree with the Sky commentators, Tann was looking for an easy way out and even questioned the referee for not getting him out of there the second time he was knocked down if I remember correctly. Tann's fault.

I agree that the looping right is terrible, you can see it coming a mile away.

Best worst ref ever, he was tiny and counted like he'd just recently mastered 1 to 10

The ref just wasn't allowing Tann an easy out so he could then complain and say he didn't hear the count.

He wanted the five people in the audience to enjoy Whyte's US debut!

Would be nice for Whyte to face Miller next but it wouldn't suprise me to see him out against Ajit Kabayel for the European title next. It's about his level.

He does say the word ten, but Tann is up before then. I don't know why he finishes saying the count (proud he can count to ten?), but Tann was up at nine and a half each time. The ref could see Tann was trying to time the count and didn't fall for it.

He came in at 260lbs.... early in his career he was as low as 229lbs. Hopefully he gets a good test in his next fight and we can see what his conditioning is like. He's definitely added some muscle but I don't think he should be over 250lbs really.

The Wach fight would have been a good measuring stick and provided some much needed experience for Whyte against a taller boxer.

Agreed. He's heavier than he should be, like 99% of the heavyweights out there.

I'm quite surprised Hearn doesn't stick more of his fighters on the US and German shows more often. Guys like Groves, Haye, Froch and Cleverly fought relatively low key fights earlier in their career and I'm sure it's good experience. Also if it takes a highish profile fighter in a lower key fight off a British show and gives that slot to a competitive fight lower down the card then I'm all for that.
