Man, this dude is thinking that he's already an ATG fighter just because he went 12 rds with GGG and he didn't get knocked out! I didn't hear nothing about his next opponent and I truly want to see him against someone notable. Lemieux has no fight scheduled and it would be a good challenge for Jacobs! ..... or that GGG fight took a lot from him ??

He's gone a bit too big-headed. He had a huge advantage against GGG, and stil lost. I don't think he won the fight, that's just my opinion. I know many did score it in his favour.. But he needs to move on. He doesn't look like he took a big beating, he looked fine after that fight. But a lot of boxers tend to do this, they get a decent pay cheque and then take a year out.

I'm so curious who is gonna fight next?

He's a PBC fighter. they're all inactive. All they have is the cheap Fox cards and a few on Bounce. Past that they need Showtime money to fight.

Absolutly right. He is in his prime and train n fight and not wasting time. Now is the time make millions!

Or maybe he is just waiting for a option at the winner of g/c.

He will probably wait a few weeks until Canelo-GGG happens to assess his options before signing anything binding.

I don't recall...Is Jacobs a PBC fighter? If so that would explain his inactivity. All of those guys basically just piss their careers away.

I realize that OP thinks the world revolves around Golovkin. But in reality, Danny's scheduling probably has absolutely nothing to do with Golovkin at all.

Much better argument than Maidana winning the first fight with Floyd.

We finally see GGG get pushed, and everyone goes silent for a rematch.
When certain fighters have close wins (DLH, Manny, now GGG), everyone acts like it was conclusive.

Boxing media is looking for Tyson because KOs are the easiest sells.
However, boxing fans, who no longer have any significant representation from purists,
are way too gullible for violence, instead of demanding competition.

I think the winner of GGG/Canelo should be urged by the public to fight Jacobs.
But 75% of the US boxing fans only watch ESPN, so they don't know PBC fighters exist.

Jacobs is waisting his prime when Lemieux has no fight.

If Jacobs doesn't get that WBO belt from BJS-Mnroe Jr winner, he won't get GGG(assuming G beats Canelo).

If a Floyd opponent wins 4 rounds there is a STRONG push for a rematch.
GGG got challenged and the boxing public is silent.
It's this secret thing that is done in the modern world
where everyone acts like they want things to be based on merit,
but then secrectly work for some sort of unfair advantage.

If you can't see the boxing public favoring GGG in the same vein as DLH and Manny, you're as blind as your scoring indicates

I don't think it should be "I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch". The public should be demanding it.
Strictly from an entertainment stand point, what do you want to see, another hopeless dude getting KO'ed?
But there are some people the public wants beaten and others they don't.

Well...I wanted to see GGG/Canelo more than I wanted a GGG/Jacobs rematch. The fact that we're getting GGG/Canelo is probably a large reason why nobody is calling for the rematch. Jacobs will remain one of the top contenders out there for whoever the winner of GGG/Canelo happens to be, and I'd like to see him get his rematch.

If he just keeps sitting on the shelf for the rest of the year though it ain't gonna hurt my feelings to see an active fighter get the shot over him. Sh*t or get off the pot in this sport.

I believe a lot of the work Maidana did illegally in that fight benefited the smaller amount of good work he did, his jab was good but he really took about 5 rounds max. I thought 115-112 GGG was the right score against DJ, the bombs Gennady walked through was impressive. DJ can crack.

I want to see Golovkin against BJS, Charlo or Derevo more than a Jacobs rematch. Then I would like to see him against a SMW tournament winner.

I don't recall him losing any points in the fight.

Yeah, but when Arum was shelving Rios and Walters ... wait, I forgot I'm an Arum fan now.

I think the public demand is what forces the promoters to act. (In most cases)
The general common sense of a sports fan in the 80's/90's would have kept Jacobs active,
by keeping his name and image in the public consciousness as a top fighter.

In order to survive, PBC will have to align with FS1 because the media impact of being ignored by ESPN is too great.
So we get another splitting of the sport. This time because of media influences. Which is worse.
Imagine, Manny P4P over Thurman. Spence not top 10. Garcia getting 1 vote (less than Wilder and Santa Cruz)
Even if you agree somehow, imagine what a FS1/PBC P4P list would look like (mine ).
But you don't have to be a genius to see how that warps the perception of the sport in a weird way.

Even if Fox shows NFC games, they still rank AFC teams fairly.
Boxing is gone to shits media-wise. Fans need to step up and support fighters, not the BS string pullers.

I haven't heard an unkind word said about Jacobs on the forums. I didn't think he beat GGG, but he certainly gave GGG his hardest fight to date, and I want to see more of him.

If he don't fight it's because he ain't fighting, not because people don't wanna see him. Lots of Boxing fans want to see Danny Jacobs fight again.

So you should understand what I'm saying. If GGG was always losing 5 rounds, I'd be like whatever.
But GGG has been dominating everyone in a way you don't normally see. It's special.
How could you not want to see him challenged? If you want Canelo, fine. People are stupid for celebrity.

But when "real" fans are clamoring for BJS over Jacobs, it's stupid. Imo
