So ODLH wrote on twitter "F*** you floyd and F*** you connor" before the fight began even though he tried to make canelo vs mcgregor,so if connor decides to stay in boxing for a bit DLH wont want any part of the millions of dollars generated by mcgregor and his loyal fans will he?

I used to love watching DLH fight but since he has been a promotor he is one hypocritical pr!ck

I think DeLaHoya has been rubbed up the wrong way by Floyd for a long time - having witnessed a shift in the kind of integrity and attitude of fighters. There's a documentary I caught not so long ago on Netflix that follows the careers of 3 fighters, 1 was Peter Quillin, another was a young pro they call "Young BHop" and another was an amateur guy who changed his name to Cam Awesome. They interview Oscar in it regarding the USA's downfall on the amateur and olympic scene, he says he can't fathom why young American fighters aren't interested in the ams or winning gold medals for their country, that for him winning gold was one of his proudest moments. But when it cut to the "young Bhop" character, he didn't give a shitt, he just wanted to make money and emulate the likes Floyd or Broner with fancy cars and enter the ring with rappers.

I'd rather see more DeLaHoyas in boxing, than Floyd Mayweathers.

Floyd Mayweather won a Bronze Medal in the Olympics too, and by all accounts was robbed in the match he lost as an amateur.

Any kind of Olympic exposure prior to turning Pro is gonna be a boost to a Fighters career, if you win a Gold Medal you're gonna be making solid money, and have a lot of people talking right out the gate. It's definitely worthwhile for your career as a Professional to exceed as an amateur first.

I'd rather see more DeLaHoyas in boxing, than Floyd Mayweathers.

At first glance i would say yes more de la hoyas but then when you open your eyes, who puts in the hours of hard training pads road work sparring missing time from their family? The boxer. Who sits back makes a few phone calls and reaps the luons share of the tv gate and advertising? The promotor. So when you see what floyd has earned have another thought of "imagine if he would of stayed with bob arum" then bob arum would of made what floyd has earned and gave floyd his fighters purse thats it so for me floyd has it right,he is in there takin the shots he is the one in the gym and on the rd so floyd over oscar every day of the week in business terms anyway. By the sounds of it people are happy for promotors i.e arum,king,hearm and co. To earn multi multi millions but not the fighter? It baffles me

I think you may have missed the point being made as I think he was not referring to De La Hoya the promoter but as a fighter (guys who values the Olympics, representing his country, pride, integrity and although money is of huge importance, not at the sacrifice of being the type of role model that most middle income, middle class type of people can appreciate) rather than the gangsta, rapping, money makes you important attitude of Floyd etc.

I know but times have changed in the states and money is more important than a place in the Olympic team,times are harder than ever and young men want to earn enough to look after their mum and dad,not realising that the route to the big money when you first start is a world or olympic medal or a national title,these bring a massive signing on fee with a promotor,we obviously know but these young men arnt get fed the right info cause thats what id do if i had the talent
