The thought that Canelo may box GGG is stronger

People expect to see a toe to toe fight but I think Canelo will try to box Golovkin and even succeed. Golovkin is too basic and simple as a fighter. Canelo has some tricks in bag.

Floyd said GGG is straight up and down, no special effects.

The Canelo-Golovkin bout won’t be a toe-to-toe affair. It’s not going to play out like a Hagler-Hearns or Gatti-Ward type war. I expect to see both men trying to cautiously outbox their opponent for at least the first third of the fight.
Gennady will inevitably opt to adopt a cautious approach, by initially boxing Canelo from the outside, where his jab will become his preferred weapon of choice, whilst looking for opportunities to work the body whenever his opponent is against the ropes.
Meanwhile, Canelo will try to counter-punch any offensive manoeuvre employed by GGG, whilst using subtle lateral movement, coupled with throwing eye-catching combinations (from the inside), in order to steal the rounds on the scorecards.
GGG and Canelo will only become more aggressive under one of two scenarios: if they identify a weakness in their opponent (i.e. they’re troubled by their power); or if they believe they’re behind on the judges’ scorecards.
I suspect that both men are anticipating this fight to either go to the scorecards or a late stoppage, so they’ll be managing their stamina levels very carefully from the get-go.

Good breakdown. But, I think that Team 3G knows full well that they cannot win a close decision. They will go for the kill.
Furthermore, if GingerHead stays at distance and spends time on the ropes it is a recipe for disaster. He must pressure 3G, attack the body, grapple, reset on his bike and repeat. If he stands at distance he will get broken down. If he goes to the ropes repeatedly he will get hurt.

both have some tricks in a bag. People underestimating Canelos punching power and combinations. If this fight goes toe to toe with some wild exchanges, it will be problem for 3G. On the other side it is pretty hard to hit 3g cleanly. Body punching and cuts/swelling may be a factor too in this fight.

GingerHead absolutely has legit power, but his path to victory (and a possible stoppage) involves pressure and body work.

Canelo has a bag of tricks similar to a magician outside of Walmart.
Canelo will RUN. He will also be at least 180 pounds come fight night.
Canelo will receive the scoring benefit in every round, in every situation.
If Canelo can't win this fight (on the cards), he'd be the worst main PPV star in boxing history.

Gingerboy has some slick waist moves and he's very good at feinting his opponent. I'd say Canelo learnt his craft very well and he is cagey as they come. Golovkin should abuse of his ramming jab to the head and body.

Canelos weight is pretty much the only thing you got right in this weird unfocused outpouring.

I think Canelo's speed is the biggest worry for Camp GGG. I know Jacobs is a different fighter to Canelo, but he needs to learn from that fight and show a bit more cunning.
I imagine this fight to have some explosive and entertaining intervals, sandwiched in between another chess match.

GGG would be licking his lips if Canelo tries to box and move. Canelo doesn't have the footwork or the stamina to do what Jacobs did, and GGG crushed Monroe when he tried it. Canelo's only chance is to sit on the inside and deter GGG with some big counters and speed.

I'm pretty confident in golovkin for this fight providing he doesn't get screwed by judges or old Father Time has caused him to lose a yard
If canelo tries to stand up to golovkin and press him he may have success, but in the long run I think he'll get broken down by the bigger puncher and tougher man
I don't think canelo is as skilful a counter puncher boxer on the back foot as some make out. If golovkin can get him on his bike cos he doesn't like the power I don't think canelo is slick enough to pull off a boxing class.
It could be like cotto vs Margarito 1 but not such an exaggerated level inboxing skill. The quicker guy getting success but ultimately getting broken up

GGG's jab and his sharp left hook to the body will break down Canelo.

Which fight didn't Canelo get the benefit of the doubt from the judges?
Which main PPV attraction was worse than Canelo?

People underrate the hell out of GGG's jab. It won him the Jacobs fight.

Simplicity is vastly underrated. Simplicity works best. GGG by ko.

Come on, no one underrates GGG's jab since the Lemieux fight. Lemieux is/was golden boy so they know it personally...it's just the question of whether Canelo can deal with it.

I'm thinking that Canelo could make GGG's jab useless by fighting in the pocket at a close range? Canelo is very good at counters and combos.

Liam Smith and The Corpse of JCC Jr.
Brook and Jacobs.

Brook was undersized. If Canelo fought him all the whiners here would ridicule him .
Jacob is weak chinned. If GGG is so powerful, why couldn't he get rid of him?
Golovkin will be the boxer in this bout. He won't attempt to slug with the powerful Canelo.
He better use that jab if he wants to survive.

I think Canelo is a good boxer but is being over rated going into this fight. I see GGG winning quite comfortably.
Only chance Canelo has is crooked judges
