According to Danish paper Ekstrabladet, in a few days it will be made public that former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler“s comeback will go ahead on November 11 at the Messecenter in Herning. The opponent could be Colombian contender Roamer Alexis Angulo (22-0).
The 38-year old Kessler had his last fight in 2013, when lost a decision in a rematch with Carl Froch, and then officially retired in 2015 and has been training for a comeback since the spring and is reportedly looking very good in sparring. He spent a week in Sweden recently sparring with World Boxing Super Series participant Erik Skoglund.
Herning has been the home to many of Kessler“s best performances and it was here that he beat Carl Froch in their first bout back in 2010. Kessler also took out Gusmyr Perdomo and Brian Magee in this venue.
