Do you like Haye the promoter?

Evening lads, I'll be honest when the whole Haymaker-Ringstar deal came into play I wasn't the biggest fan felt Schaffer was just milking the market (as a good businessman should do).

However, after seeing what they are doing especially with free boxing on Dave + how they are moving Joe Joyce is making me warm to the whole link up, what do you guys feel about this and do you think they can sustain this promotion in the next 2/3 years?

Needs a bit of time before we can decide I guess. But I like the Lewiston (sic) - Joyce fight

I expect there will be a lot of tv channels very willing to accomodate his promotions headlined by Joyce once he steps up through the levels.

Haye is a great promoter of himself when it comes to his fights, if he can do even half as good a job with other boxers then he'll be a great promoter.

Getting boxing on Freeview channels like Dave is brilliant, lots of people can watch, everyone tunes in even if it's only for a little while and it gets more attention for boxing in general.
Although I doubt it's going to be world changing fights every week or so, it still makes for good viewing and a lot more people will tune in to watch.

It will only go so far before you need a bigger platform to generate the revenues you need to make big fights.

Bit like MTK - smaller shows then their fighters go on other people's platforms for money.

I reckon you are on the money with this one, will need to rope a bigger channel once Joyce starts moving up in lvls

I like Haye

But if his boxing on Dave freeview is going to be a success, Dave's production must be a lot better than it was for his fights vs de mori and the worm

Yeah, hasn't really done anything much as a promoter yet.

A lot to like about it. For me tho he should leave it out till he gives up boxing. Still talking about world titles etc. If hes as good as he says he is why the need to promote other fighters at this stage. Although i think most of us know hes pretty much looks done at the top level.

Heard him say the other day he gets his new trainer for two hours then joyce gets him for the other two hours. I d prefer to see four hours with haye. Even if its slower paced stuff for 4 hours still something they could be getting up to.

Haye could sell sand to the Arabs, snow to the Eskimos etc. We all know he can promote any old crap and people will buy it, but he seems to have a good product here with Joyce in a decent fight, it being free etc. I don't really care if the production is a bit dodgy if they do that on the cheap and spend the money paying for decent opponents. Free boxing on terrestrial TV is good and I like Joyce and will happily watch his fledgling pro career, much like we were able to do with Tyson Fury.

Don't have any problems with any of this so far. Haye did good numbers for his come back mismatches so I'm sure the advertising revenue will be good for the channel. I think they're doing everything right.

Unless Joyce loses his first fight in which case they've done everything wrong.

I'm sceptical about his ability to consistently promote anything other than David Haye. Time will tell.

He didn't really do anything great first time around with a half decent stable did he?

Hayes a bit of a bellend so by default that makes him a half decent promoter. Glad most see through his nonsense now !
