It is still early, but Benavidez looks to be the future. I can see him growing into the LHW and Cruiser divs. He certainly has experience handling the weight.

Some of the flurries he pulled of vs good opposition recently were insane for a guy his size... very big offensive talent

Very seldom (if ever) seen before.

The Benavidez fight is a big deal, IMO. He is already the top p4p fighter under 21 years of age. Gavril is his highest-rated opponent thus far. With a win, Benavidez establishes himself as a possibility for future p4p king and picks-up a vacant world title at the same time, at the age of 20. A win would also move him ahead of Erickson Lubin, the p4p highest rated 21-year-old.

169.2 Quillin vs 171.2 for his journeyman opponent. So, I assume that Qullin will never go down to 160.

I'd say Dashon Johnson is more of a gatekeeper than journeyman... he pulled some good upsets and deserved even more

Gatekeeper with 20 losses ??? He did hurt Quillin in the 3rd round (out of 8), but this just shows how mediocre Quillin is at 168+.

JLeon Love sucks. Pretty clearly losing so far to Abie Han but in Vegas on a TMT card you know he's probably winning a shutout.

Majority draw.

Atrocious.

Absolutely disgusting. Outlanded him 79-46. And one judge him winning 1 round.

I'm with you. I had it 5 rounds to 2 for Abie Han.

The scorecard for Love is going on the sh*t list! Did you catch the name of the judge that scored it for Love?

Ocario or Osario or something. Aka a bought jagoff. How the hell was the fight even on 2 cards when they only scored 7 rounds? 2 judges had a 10-10 round? Straight fuckery.

Benavidez took control back in the 7th, but then Gavril is able to do good work again in the 8th landing several clean shots on Benavidez. Best round of the fight Gavril there in the 8th.

6-2 Benavidez

This is one of those fights where the commentary crew is so impressed with the heart and durability of the underdog they're acting like the fight is closer than it actually is. He's way behind.

Gavril controlled the 9th round, Benavidez was losing a large portion of the 10th, but stole it back in his favor with a flurry of big shots that appeared to hurt Gavril a little bit.

7-3 Benavidez
