For the great world light heavyweight champion Georges Carpentier never fought two opponents of Jack Dempsey in Billy Miske and Bill Brennan. Would the "Orchid Man" beat the prime Miske before he suffered from Bright's Disease and Brennan in his prime? Please tell me what are your opinions?

I believe that a vintage Georges Carpentier would have a tough time of it versus Billy Miske and Bill Brennan if both of the latter fighters were at their best. Two other opponents of Jack Dempsey, Tommy Gibbons and Gene Tunney, beat Carpentier handily.

I strongly agree with you Chuck that Carpentier would have a tough time against the prime Billy Miske, but he may possibly beat Brennan by out-boxing him rather than slugging with him for a decision or else Brennan's powerful punches would hurt him.

Brennan looked pretty good in 2nd Dempsey fight. However, he lost just about every big fight he had. I think Carpentier might have beaten him. Would favor Miske over Carpentier, though Carpentier would probably make it a good fight.
