Oscar Valdez vs Genesis Servania

Valdez defends his WBO Featherweight title against fellow unbeaten fighter Servania on B-Nation this Friday, Ive never heard of Servania, I had a look at record there, he's a Filipino unbeaten in 29, only 12KOs on the slate so looks another fairly safe defence for Valdez who's title reign so far has been less than stellar ,his last fight against Marriaga was a great fight and one of the FOTY for action but I don't think Team Valdez anticiapated Marriaga giving them such a tough night, in the Valdez won comfortably on the cards but some questions were asked on his defence and his stamina in the middle rounds was questionable as well

No real stand out names on Servania's record but he has wins over Rafael Concepcion, Alexander Munoz and Nick Otieno who fought Lee Selby for the Commonweath title a few years back

Hard to make a prediction considering ive never even heard of Servania let alone seen him but id imagine a Valdez win is a pretty much cert

Was really on the Valdez train til I seen the Marriagga fight. He struggled with a limited opponent there. Might not mean much at the end of the day but definitely casts doubt especially when you see what Loma done with Marriagga recently. He's on another level though so it's unfair to compare but we're talking top level guys at the weight here.

Great fight Valdez wins a wide UD, I had it 118-108, doesn't tell the whole tale of the fight though, both guys were down, Servania put Valdez down in the 4th with a right hand as Valdez moved out with his hands down, Valdez returned the favour in the 5th putting Servania down with a jolting left hook which badly hurt Servania and had him on wobbly legs, Servania looked strong and dangerous but wasn't busy enough and was trying to catch Valdez with that one big shot which allowed Valdez to pick up the rounds with some clever boxing, landing hurtful shots to head and body, there was some defensive lapses again from Valdez but all in all I thought he looked great and won clearly

Valdez needs a team who will now give him 3 or 4 VERY easy bouts. We don't like mismatches, but the kid is going to be ruined if these wars continue to rack up

Yeah my god they are matching Oscar TOUGH, thats two rock hard career shortening opponents in a row, imagine matching one of our UK champions like that - terry Flanagan for instance - nope, I can't imagine either..

He looks a P4P puncher - I think he might knock Selby out, but these last two opponents had awesome chins - trouble is, as usual for a big puncher, he's wide open for a KO counter shot. Such an exciting talent, I hope they don't burn him out at this rate.

Bob is a ruthless matchmaker, but look at the shows he is serving up - 4 undefeated fighters in world titles fights on same show, compared to the crap Eddie Hearn serves up, just shows the diffence in levels.
