Ward beat much better fighters than Sven Ottke. As a matter of fact, who did Ottke beat?

People now act like Kovalev was all Ward had.

Can't believe I'm defending Otkke but although he was boring and got gifts from refs and judges I never remember him being a dirty fighter.

If you fight negatively you're not a draw, unless you go the route Mayweather did and just become controversial stroke outspoken during build up

Great fighter, well short compared to say Roy, think we could have seen more from ward.

You accuse these guys of being “boring”, but I think the truth here is that to those who appreciate execution of the sweet science, they’re far from it. And at the end of the day, the real reason people find their ability to be “boring” is because it usually means they have “absolutely dominated” their opposition.

There’s a quote that I’ve read from a boxing scribe, which reads…

“Absolute domination is absolute domination, and when a man can separate himself from a competitor by being that good, it simply makes for an uneventful evening that just feels bad!”

Could that be the real reason behind your dislike of guys like Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Wladimir Klitschko? Do you not feel that their opponents are partly responsible for your feelings of tedium, due to their inability to make fights competitive or their failure to somehow find a way to beat these guys?

If floyd was such a dominator, why didnt he try to ko his opponents?

Wlad was never a terrific boxer, he was just lucky that was in a bad era of heavyweights and most of his opponents were either c level or blown up cruiserweights. Ones he fought an opponent of same height weight and skill level he got tkod.

Ward was a dirty pos. Inside the ring with his illegal tactics, outside the ring with his arrogance.

Sweet science and boxing in an entertaining way can be combined. De la hoya, ali, leonard and many other were able to do it, those boxer i watch. Ward, wlad and floyd were not able, therefore i dont or rarly watched them.

different from sven ottke, and

This is why I loathe coming on the current scene. Hopefully this fat slob eats his keyboard one day so he can't post anymore.
