Saul "Canelo" Alvarez joined the relief effort for the victims of the 7.1-magnitude earthquake that rocked Mexico and also announced that he will donate one million dollars to assist those who were affected.

The boxer from Guadalajara visited the DIF Jalisco to support the transfer of the products.

Canelo began with his assist efforts by providing three trucks with supplies and supplies, as well as helping with the distribution of supplies. He also sent messages of encouragement to compatriots affected by the earthquake.

His older brother, Rigoberto, said that the Mexican superstar will donate one million dollars in food, construction materials and medicines, according to statements provided to ESPN Deportes.

Maybe this is what will get him the love of the Mexican people because it certainly was not his boxing against Golovkin.

He's trying to establish his name after he was booed by his own people after the GGG fight. All look staged, cheap and on purpose. Why he can't just stay low profile and help them?!

C'mon, give the guy some credit. I'm not a Canelo fan at all but at least he's doing something. Where's Chavez/Marquez/Barrera/Morrales?

Respect where it's due. Just because Chavez/Marquez/Barrera/Morrales are not photographed, doesn't mean they are not helping.

Canelo is more likely helping himself with this move. Nothing wrong with helping the poor people who are in trouble but STOP put a photograph to shoot pictures with you doing this humanitarian work. :TU:

Not saying they aren't but Canelo is the only one we see on a picture and he's being criticized for being pictured helping people. Fair play if Chavez/Marquez/Barrera/Morrales are out there but Canelo is the one we're sure of.
