BC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated via social media that “the WBC office uses for press conferences is damaged and most likely will never be functional again. Thank God everyone is safe.”
He further wrote on the WBC website, “The WBC original offices, which have been rented since 1978, will no longer be available, as it is imminent that the building will have to be torn down. So many special moments happened there and only memories will live from such headquarters. An important chapter of the WBC history will be closed.”

I thought with all the money the WBC has made throughout its history that they would own a building and not have to rent it.

No people hurt ...
Thank god. I hoped for a fully destroyed building with all records and rating lost.

A rented office only used for press conference will not affect the WBC in any way.
If that office was of great sentimental value to the WBC, they would have already owned it prior to the natural disaster taking place.
I’m glad they’ve started a relief fund for the genuine victims though.
