"Tyson Fury Does The Haka (Shirtless) With Joseph Parker After Cousin Hughie’s Fight"

Thought you’ve seen everything in boxing? Well, Tyson Fury does the Haka in some style here which might change you’re view.

Boxing is a funny old game.

You think you’ve seen just about every nutty angle that this crazy, intoxicating, addictive sport can throw up for those who are passionate about it.

But every now and then it reminds you of why it’s well, one of the more unique sports out there. The characters boxing has had in it over the years are a rare breed.

Indeed, Tyson Fury falls into this bracket. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny the man is a character.

Following his cousin Hughie’s crushing loss in his first world title title tilt against WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker from New Zealand, Tyson wasn’t angry at all with him.

He was as merry as they come afterwards as it happens. To the point of joining Parker and others in a possibly alcohol fuelled crack at the Haka:

Fair play, lads.

No doubt if Tyson returns to the ring he will have his eyes on Parker as an opponent and aim to avenge his cousin’s defeat however.

Parker also holds one of the belts Fury held a couple of years back when he was an active fighter.

Thoughts?

Yeah, Tyson getting back into the ring is the first thing I think about when I see his huge jiggling stomach

It is not just about losing weight. It is the boxing skills that he is not practicing because he's retired. He seems content and happy in retirement and I don't see him coming back unless he really needs the money.

Tyson Fury is still sparring. There are several recent videos of him sparring. The guy seems to enjoy fighting. He doesn't look good, but his skills haven't eroded, despite having poor fitness levels.

He's only just turned 29 years of age, so a comeback is still very feasible, though I doubt he’ll be able to ever attain the level he reached for the Klitschko bout.

Yeah but how good are they at morris dancing? :D

What was that about a crushing loss? A majority decision which could have conceivably gone the other way (and almost certainly would have but for understandable distaste regarding the tactics employed) is "a crushing loss" ???

I dread to think how a first round knockout might have been described :o

I think it just meant crushing in the sense that the Furys all thought he won so it was a crushing disappointment, rather than a Khan-Prescott crushing.

And thanks for the image of the New Zealand women’s rugby team competing in a Morris dancing competition. I suspect I won’t be able to shake it off for weeks

He wasn't very skilled to begin with. As long as he didn't shrink or lose his guts he'll be about the same. Pity for him the new beltholder will not refuse to punch him.

Sorry Bb that is quite an image to conjure with, I agree. :D

The Furys will get over it. Hughie will be around for years and if he learns from this he will become a better boxer and realize he has no need to rely purely on evasion and that on its own it's not appreciated by judges nor even the fans.
