Eggington makes the 1st defence of his European Welterweight title against twice beaten Frenchman Mimoune on the Crolla/Burns card this Saturday, Eggington's always great value and he's in great form, the KO over Rodriguez was brutal, Mimoune has a decision win over Mimoune himself, he's also lost an 8 rounder to Lepelley whos been in with Burns and Skeete

Mimoune only has 2KOs in 20 fights so I imagine he's a bit of a technichian, Eggington is sometimes troubled by boxer types but he always comes on strong the later a fight goes and cant see him having too much trouble here, I can an Eggington KO win in about 7/8

This is quite old-school in a way - it's the kind of learning defence that people used to have two or three of in the eighties when they won the European title before they tried to move on to a world title shot. I like it.

His story is mad. Hearn's done a great job with him and I expect a world title shot by the end of next year if I'm honest.

117-112 Mimoune, easy win for him not even close IMO, that judge who had Eggington winning 8 rounds needs rounding up and shot, call it subjective all you want Eggington walked forward but wasn't landing and wasn't even throwing all that much either, that was his flattest performance since the loss to Skeete where he looked similarly out of sorts, his aggression wasn't the same as recent fight and Mimoune had no problem dancing out of range and countering him especially with the right hook, Eggington doesn't have much of a left hook going on tonights fight and that was the shot that would've nailed Mimoune moving out of range to his right

Eggington struggled to land to the body as well, Mimoune tucked up nicely, great win for him he deserved it

The savage is honest lad and hard not to like, but I’m afraid I can’t see the day he gets a world title shot as someone eluded to. His really quite limited and the top performers at 147 would brutalise him.

If you’re a good boxer and can move he has big problens

can see him getting a shot. hes got a great team and you dont need to be a top fighter to fight for world belt these days.

Yes you’re right, I meant winning it

Mimoune looked the better boxer throughout, fast hands, good footwork and solid defence. I had him winning comfortably.

Eggington didn't do too much wrong, just came up against a style he is always going to struggle with.
