I want 50-years-younger Larry Merchant

That'd be a funny inside joke for Boxing fans.

I wish Floyd would have kicked his ass. Larry was always awful.

I loved Larry. I don't care what they say about him

I liked Larry too. RIP. Just joking, he’s still alive.
I reckon Larry had some fight in him. If a video game had ratings like fight night and Floyd was 96 out of 100 Larry would be a 12 (12 for aggression). Jim lamely and Max Kellerman would be a 1 or 2 given for pre fight talking.

I have mixed feelings about Larry. Initially, I couldn't stand him. But, the HBO Boxing broadcast became pretty dear to me in the 90s. So, Larry grew on me by just being a part of that.

He wouldn't have been so bad if he didn't try to be boxing Shakespeare. The autumn leaves are falling, but what of the leaves in the sands of time that is Marlon starlings career? Is he wind or a leaf? Or even a tree? Hopefully we'll find out soon......I will say when Oscar had all those dueling banjos before the Whitaker fight Larry nailed it...."this sucks"

Hands down...in my opinion...the most interesting and best interviewer is Jim Grey. He’s so comfortable asking those direct questions which teeter into provocative. He’s produced so many funny and awkward interviews. Basically a smiling assassin, I’m always happy to watch him post fight...no joke....slipping in sarcasm and a bit of passive aggressive demeaning “boxings your world, interviewing is mine” Jim Grey.

The best ever Jim Grey interview for me was when he started talking to James Toney after the Holyfield fight, and Holyfield knocks the microphone out of his hand, and says "Man why am I talking to you, I don't even like you" or something like that
Then when Jim Grey walks after him to try to continue the interview he says "WHY YOU WALKING UP ON ME DOG!" and looks like he's gonna fight Jim Grey...at which point Jim decides he's gonna see what Holyfield thinks about all this

Haha I had just watched it on YouTube 2 minutes ago no joke. He’s got balls. He’s so calm, pretty close to being punched in the face then but it’s his calm demeanour thats truly impressive. He’s had classics such as I broke my back spinal Tyson, even his Stevenson fonfara 2 one this year was hilarious. I really look forward to hearing him, he’s twisted, I love it.
