Was a nice fight, I liked and expected a bit more from Yildirim, but he did ok for his limit and skill. Both fighters had closer % of landed punches and in the end, Eubank was bit more smarter calling the close bout for him, using range most of the time, counter-punching and ending with that great left hook.

And some casuals in this forum said he had no power and that he wasn't a puncher lol. They crack me up.

hes such a puncher that this is the first decent opponent hes dropped. spike, blackwell, chudinov, abraham, saunders, quinlan. couldnt drop any of them. landed plenty. nick blackwell would be in a better place today if eubank had shown serious fight ending power. his record wasnt the stuff of a major power puncher. tom doran probably best opponent hed put down before. tom doran notoriously chinny.
good power display here though. his first at any decent level. finally some evidence of hard ko pop.

I think the first flash KD in round 1 totally threw Yildirim off his gameplan... Eubank controlled the distance well with the jab which obliged Yildirim to use the vertical turtle defense which setted up the opening for the counter uppercut... he was done from there confidence and gameplan wise.

Looked like he really cared about the other guy not getting up
Could have been in a coma for all he cared. Nice he got to pose for some pictures with his back to the fallen guy.
Priorities.
Come on George!

Aren't you getting a little carried away?

Nice jab from jr as well as his normal uppercuts and a good performance BUT slow come forward fighters with little head movement will always make eubank look good let jr beat a mover and I'll be fully on the eubank express .

Decent win for eubank but again a perfect style for him to face

A fight with him and groves is 50/50.

I hope groves wins but I worry that he will run out of gas and eubank gets a late stoppage

Yildirim's game plan was awful. He walked in to punching range with his guard up and allowed Eubank to get shots off before throwing counters. It made Eubank look good but it also highlighted how he can lose composure. He reminded me of Khan.
Enjoyable few rounds though.

Yea its likely. If groves is the betting favourite (if he wins his next) i’ll put some money on jr.

the pace was pretty relentless. Either Eubank was going to slow or he’s that relaxed and comfortable in the ring. Not to be underestimated.

I’m 60/40 groves. Better boxing basics and bigger man. Eubank physically is a handful though
