Will he fight again after that "Loss"? Will he avenge his defeat? Has he missed the boat with Danny Williams?

He may well meet Danny on the way down.

But I would be surprised if we saw him again. He was the archetypal bully, and his big fish/small pond confidence will have been rocked by Danny's win and the BBC dropping Audley. It's Herbie Who? again.

I can only imagine him beating trial horses now.

I think any fringe contender with a half decent chin (ie everybody bar Michael Grant and Clifford Etienne) would starch him inside 4.

He was a right plum.

"I want to fight Audrey."
"Actually, his names Audley"
"Thats what I said Audrey"

Still, you have to feel sorry for him after that last loss. I don't think the bloke punched him once.

there wasn't a clinch either was there  that cut was so unlucky it was almost unreal.

i've always liked herbie :TU: in the early days he was so exciting but unfortunately the bowe fight exposed him really. :( and then his activity levels after that were awful. :x

i'd loved to c the herb sort out audley though. :D

I too had high hopes for Herbie Hide in the early days, I have many of his early fights on tape, KO'ing the likes of Conroy Nelson and Percell Davis etc. But like others have said he got exposed at the very highest level. He always seemed a bit volitile but seemed to worsen after the sad death of his little brother.

I always felt Herbie Hide Vs Jeremy Williams would have made for a good fight.

i think thats what hide should have done after the bowe fight. based himself on the american fight circuit and taken on the top 10, top 15. but he wasted it winning the wbo title and defending against bums once in a blue moon. and when he run into a quality fighter in vitali he come a cropper big style.

Herbie Hide is his own worst enemy. Despite being chinny, with the state of things he could and should be in the world's top ten.

Unfortunately, he is as mad a a whole sack full of March hares.

Its just unfortunate Herbie Hide/Danny Williams/Audley Harrison seemed better at slagging each other off then they did at actually fighting each other.

1994 Hide Bruno would have been class. Hide Lennox would've been class.

I'll take Bruno and Lennox in those fights though.
