hmm, did you see the fight? was Nelson more aggressive than normal? why was he losing, May box out of his skin or is Nelson showing signs of being 38?

good result in terms of a possible Nelson-Macca fight.

Nelson lost two points for shoving May into the ropes in round six. May was down twice in the final round.

Classy win by Johnny tonight. I thought he controled the first 5 rounds with his jab - he couldn't miss the German. Those judges were doing him no favours tonight. May tried a few rushes with a bit of success

He threw May through the ropes in the 6th and was docked two points. Great finish - the ref gave May a slow count, then Neslon finished him with three punch combo.

Yep, good win for Nelson, he just keeps winning these days, may not always be the most exciting to watch but he keeps winning.

Does anyone know if this fight will be shown in the UK? I assume Eurosport will at some point this month.

Well maybe we will se Nelson Vs Enzo by the end of the year, I doubt it but it could happen.

I can see him going on for another couple of years, the new weight increase in the cruiser division should suit him. Nelson always keeps himself in shape between fights.

I think we might get to see it on Ringside...Johnny does work for them after all and it's in their interest to promote the hopefully forthcoming Enzo-Nelson clash.

You've got to say, it's a great win. How he can do it when so inactive is a triumph.

2 judges had nelson up by 4 rounds and on had him six rounds up before the stoppage remember the ref can instruct the judges to deduct points but i think it is at their discretion he was in no trouble through the fight the finish was excellent

I know it's old ground but i hate the way the German crowds react to there man stumbling forward and throwing none scoring punches which wild cheers and that helps to influence the judges

if you watched the may fight you could see that the mood was like a at a funeral because nobody likes may in Essen. did you watch the sam-fight later on?

I saw the Sam fight - good finish of a game opponent, but he was eating jabs like they were Turkish delights for the first two rounds. Sam's got fast hands and a decent punch on him though.
I'd like to see a Williams rematch at Wembley if they can't get a bigger fight in the meantime.

Nelson won 4 rounds, May 2 rounds. ref deducted 2 points from Nelson, so it was a draw after six rounds and the worst championship fight i saw. i expected that before because Nelsons style is worse than Ottkes and May is the worst german boxer. cruiserweight anyway sucks. it´s the weakest division. only idiots box there.

Sam lost his döner-kebap-belly already. he was in the best shape of the year. his next fight will be vs. Bakhtov. in case of the victory he wants to go for Byrd or Ruiz as he said in the interview...... i woul like to see a wrestling-match with Ruiz maybe a chance for Sam because he is big and strong......

bit harsh to call cruiserweights idiots. Im sure you dont mean that, and Im sorry but Johnny nelson is not as bad as sven ottke. First off he has won 3 of his last four fights on foreign turf, fought decent contenders the likes of Ezra Sellers for examplel.

He may not be eye catching but you cant fault his dedication and insight into the profession..

the money, the attraction and reputation you only get in heavy or light heavy. real good cruisers or light heavies move up to heavy.

agreed bubi but if your natural weight is cruiser then thats what youtr weight is that would make you an idiot to fight at heavyweight surely? (Look at nelson's forays to hweight, he simply is not big enough nor hit hard enough to be heavy, but he cant make light heavy never in a million years.)

same here mate, actually think they are better then the heavies at present especially domestically, no tthat that is saying much but the cruisers gotta be one of our strongest divisions.

i give you 2 examples how unattractive cruisers and/or may are:

only 2,000 spectators in a hall with capacity with more than 10,000.
only 2 millions on the tv, worst viewers-quote of the last years.

even Regina Halmich brings 5,000 people in and more than 4 million viewers.....

all very good cruisers make weight and move up like Holy or Jirov, Gomez, Toney etc. thereis no money and attention in cruisers. why did Jones move up from light heavy to heavy and not to cruiser?

The cruiser div is in better nick than the heavies in terms of up and comers thats for sure so who knows maybe it will become more glamorous, why shouldnt it?
