Ducky Duck Coward Duck

Why is it that some boxing '
fans' continually accuse fighters of ducking other opponents & being cowards.
It doesn't matter who the fighter is, some '
fans' just say this as a reflex.
On here we have the idiot Asdfckwit who, at one time or another, has accused every heavyweight - except for Briggs & Ortiz - of being cowards.
Elsewhere I had another '
fan' tell me that Canelo should have fought GGG straight after the Mayweather loss but didn't because he was ducking him and also moaning that Lomachenko was
swerving Rigondeaux.
Is that what being a real fan is about nowadays? Not going to fights or the gym & respecting fighters but just calling them names via the interweb

You’ll always get plenty of belters out there mate who’ll bluster the bullshit and like to play the big man. 90% of the posters on here are logical and knowledgeable, just have a good, well debated row wi them and ignore the morons. The laddie your on about is just some belter who couldn’t tie a hand wrap to save himself

I love how invented ducks like the fab 4 with McCallum and Leonard with Pryor have gained so much traction during the internet age when those fights would have been huge disappointments, compared to the ones that happened, at the time. Leonard was retired doing the commentary for Pryor/Arguello 1.

The poor fighters.
If you don't fight good opponents, expect to get insulted.

I apologise 'orse, I typed too fast so you had difficulty understanding. I'll type the next line slowly for you, mate
Some '
fans' do it non stop to boxers as if it gives them more status. By needlessly slagging off fighters all the time they seem to think it gives them more credibility. But the opposite is true.
I hope you are well 'orse.

Some deserve to get called out. Like Chickenson and Wilder and his carousel of poor defences. He was pencilled in at one point to face some Polish goon ranked 3rd in Poland behind Szpilka and Wach.

And I hope you stop saying 'fans', 'aansend.
People like you are the ones looking for more status and credibility, by slagging off other fans and pretending that you are some superior 'enlightened' fan, because you love all of these boxers and their feelings so very much.
You big jessie-man.

I have a pretty simple rule in life
If I didn't have the bollocks to say something to somebody's face , I certainly wouldn't brandish it over the tinterweb .
Is that old fashioned of me ?

I agree with OP, there’s a lot of clueless posters. Asjkl and kalan are the worst accusing people of ducking for every situation

90% of the time it's the promoter or management team that have a lot more control of who fights who. Just the way the business works. Some fighters have more say than others, but it also depends on money, standings, obligations, TV deal etc.
And in saying all that, there are duckers for sure.
The obvious ones stand out a mile.

A younger Mike Tyson would rip your arms off and wrap them around your head if you insulted him to his face I imagine

I'd tell a pro fighter he ducked another if I thought it was true. (The opportunity doesn't often crop up to talk to Adonis Stevenson though)
He isn't exactly going to kick you in the nuts now is he?
We'll maybe I would say it to Tyson or say, Ike Ibeabuchi, I'm not fornicating daft!

You do hear it a lot, and I agree it's usually someone trying to mask their lack of knowledge.
I mean we all know Calzaghe ducked froch, Haye ducked Cunningham, gatti ducked Hatton and Floyd ducked GGG.
But I'm talking about the made up stuff.

That's a pre-internet level of decency. You must be the kind of person who has real-life friends and other such old-school values.

Sarcasm, as these are some of the things you here when people say ducking.
Calzaghe ducked froch for example but in reality froch went on to do great things but at the time wasn't a big name or considered any threat to Calzaghe.

How? froch was still only the commonwealth champion by the time calzaghe had beaten Lacey.
I swear you just like to fish horse.

Plenty of people thought that he was a threat.
Why would Calzaghe avoid him if it was an easy fight for easy money?
