What do people think of this? TBH its what puts me off to going to fights at the MEN.

We take it for granted at the football and its seems almost expected that there will be a big (often football related!) brawl at the boxing these days

Hm let me think who is going to end up paying for that increased Police presence.

How about they address the root cause of the issue instead of trying to gloss over it.

Don't know about the fights but the police need to show their presence at kalles gaff

I remember seeing how a man took his wife to her first boxing show (Magnificent Seven possibly?)

And some Matthew Hall fans broke her nose when they kicked off after losing to Small.

Now if a man took his wife shopping, or for a meal or any other recreational event like a magic show or a comedy club - would her suffering a broken nose being acceptable ?

It seems if it happens at a boxing match, then it's kind of like "well it's boxing innit" attitude.

Hence a lot of people staying away from live events due to the drunken, coke-fuelled knobs and 'lads' that can't behave themselves.

Not a bad idea. Something has to be done or crowd trouble will ruin the sport.

Was that the excel show where he came out in a scream mask, audley lost to Rogan? Small came and sat in front of me after he had that fight. How things have changed, he loves ISIS now.

Yeah. I remember going to Froch-Groves 2 and I didn't see too much trouble; but at the same time, you could feel the tension in the air. It felt like it could kick off at any moment. I got a coach back that night and there was some coked up fellas on the journey aswell. They were big guys aswell. If it had kicked off, we would have been brown bread lol.

Boxing events don't exactly produce a family friendly environment. I prefer watching on TV to be honest.

Rob McCracken once told me (name dropping here) that the TV was the best seat in the house. The angles, replays etc are miles ahead of being static in one position.

Whilst you can never capture the atmosphere of real fight, a group of friends with a big screen and volume up full is as close as it gets, but much cheaper and no hassle getting home afterwards.

I'd love a big garden, with a big stack of speakers, some booze, food and good friends round - and one of these bad boys with a projector showing it:

There has always been some sort of trouble at events as long as I can remember (my first being Haye-maccarinelli) and I thought the problem, initially, was that because you weren't allowed to take beers into the stands people were just getting tanked up before going to the seats, making sure they were pissed enough and overdoing it. It seemed a welcome relief to be allowed pints in the stands.

Cocaine is fairly endemic in Britain, too. For the under 40's (and no offence to the older coke heads on the forum) this is pretty standard "blokes night out" stuff, to get pissed up and get on the gear. Combine it with the testosterone fuelled atmosphere of a boxing match and people naturally become more aggressive. I'm not sure over zealous searching and dogs will curb that: I don't go to festivals any more but there are dogs and searches there and everyone is still pilled up. You can't stop it.

I think a proper security presence is what's required, and as I have never seen an adequate or properly equipped security firm at a boxing match ever. What would be a very good idea is what they do with Glastonbury now, where you have your own ticket with your name and your face on it so they know who everyone is. Couple that with mandatory ID, so if your ID doesn't match your ticket then you don't get in, then trouble makers could be identified and banned from attending subsequent events. This would be an incentive for the dickheads to behave themselves and also serve as a brilliant way of killing off the horrible touting scourge we have at matches these days, where if you want to get a ticket you have to pay way over the odds. If this was the case then a lot of us that had wanted to go and see recent big fights and couldn't get tickets would have been able to go no problem.

Unfortunately there's too much money being made by stubhub and the like for the above to happen.

Just ban all alcohol sales, ban anyone trying to enter under the influence of drink or drugs and have sniffer dogs at the entrances . Would stop the bother straightaway , I expect if trouble continues they may have to take the same steps as they do at football

People just would not go if they could get wasted. Half the security, and employ the police with cameras like they do when 2 football firms clash. Obviously they have to come to an agreement with the old bill that don't rip the promoter off, but still allows the public to gather in relative safety. People just behave differently when the old bill are there.

And that bloke also steamed in and got KTFO. I think the whole arena saw that and let out a big "OOOOOOooooooo". Welsh were pissing in the sinks, and generally doing what pissed up Welsh do.

I wouldn't take my missus to a big public show, I'm not sure how keen I would be myself
