84 wins, 70 by KO.(Plus news fights)
World champion at welterweight, and middleweight

3 losses, but one was a newspaper loss against a heavyweight when he was 41. The other was a 15th round stopage against Charles Kid McCoy, a great fighter, in his own right, and that whole fight was basically a trap where Ryan didn't train properly and thought it was going to be an easy fight for a quick payday. The only other loss was a DQ.

Fought to 20 rounds and beyond, even to round 76 in one case.

Certainly an ATG. Another guy who is difficult to assess by eye but who was dominant in his era. I’ve read a lot of articles that he apparently wrote and he had a very tough career. Very. One of my favourite old timers

Don't know when it's out but it's being written by Chris LaForce who wrote the excellent biography on Joe Choynski. If it's anything like the Choynski biography, it will be worth the wait. :TU:
