Can we please get this guy a real fight? Jesus. This is a WASTE.
Rosado?hulkmaniac wrote:He should fight Rosado or the guy who beat Jack Culcay today.
Agree. I'm a fan. Has some skills mangilgamesh wrote:For real. So disappointing that they haven't done something meaningful with this kid. He's a good fighter.
We're trying to get him NOT to waste his time. Rosado is a waste of time.hulkmaniac wrote:He should fight Rosado or the guy who beat Jack Culcay today.
He shouldn't fight Lara. That would drive fans away from boxing.victor-romeo wrote:Andrade vs Fox was a lost hour of my life, get Andrade in with Lemiux or Jacobs and lets see what he can do ...
Was that because of Andrade or Fox?victor-romeo wrote:Andrade vs Fox was a lost hour of my life, get Andrade in with Lemiux or Jacobs and lets see what he can do ...
Fox didn't come to win but in fairness he was never expected to. Andrade should've have moved up a gear, cut the ring off a lil better and tried a bit more to put on a show. Fox was there as the "designated loser", not really down to him to shine. Andrade was supposed to be making a statement to the Middleweight division, which he failed to do.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Was that because of Andrade or Fox?victor-romeo wrote:Andrade vs Fox was a lost hour of my life, get Andrade in with Lemiux or Jacobs and lets see what he can do ...

Sulecki wouldn't be.
Demetrius Andrade previously turned down opportunities to fight Matt Korobov, Erislandy Lara and Jermell Charlo.gilgamesh wrote:For real. So disappointing that they haven't done something meaningful with this kid. He's a good fighter.
Rosa do also comes forward during fights, which is the kind of style Andrade would look good against.hulkmaniac wrote:gilgamesh wrote:We're trying to get him NOT to waste his time. Rosado is a waste of time.hulkmaniac wrote:He should fight Rosado or the guy who beat Jack Culcay today.

Rosado is a name that can put him over with the casuals. I also can't think of any promoter or network conflict that would make it hard to arrange.
Casuals know rosado? Are you mad?hulkmaniac wrote:gilgamesh wrote:We're trying to get him NOT to waste his time. Rosado is a waste of time.hulkmaniac wrote:He should fight Rosado or the guy who beat Jack Culcay today.

Lara has turned down fights with Andrade aswell.Enlightened-One wrote:Demetrius Andrade previously turned down opportunities to fight Matt Korobov, Erislandy Lara and Jermell Charlo.gilgamesh wrote:For real. Andrade also turned down a three-fight deal with Showtime.
He also chose to only compete once per year against anonymous unheralded opponents from the start of 2014 through until the end of 2016.
Demetrius has been fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of lots of opportunities throughout the course of his career, but for some strange reason, he hasn't taken them and I'm not so sure he deserves to receive more, but he'll likely get them anyway.
Andrade has either got self-destructive tendencies or he possesses absolutely no business acumen whatsoever!
You’re missing the point. I'm not missing point. It's just that you were being a little disengenous by making it seem that it's purely Andrade dodging fights. The truth of the matter is, that Andrade has also found it hard to get the best fighters in the ring because he's high risk and low reward. Not dissimilar to Lara in fact.Enlightened-One wrote:You’re missing the point. People are saying that Demetrius Andrade “deserves a meaningful fight”, but:
• He’s been very inactive throughout his career (three fights in three years between 2014 to 2016, with a 16 months hiatus, facing nobodies)
• Allowed his WBO 154lbs title to be stripped due to inactivity (without providing any reason for his inability to fight)
• Has just vacated his 154lbs WBA belt without making a meaningful defence
• Rejected fights against Matt Korobov, Erislandy Lara and Jermell Charlo
• Turned down a three-fight deal with Showtime
He has made some terrible decisions in terms of handling his career.
As far as I’m concerned, Andrade should consider himself blessed about the sheer amount of opportunities that he’s been fortunately provided, but he never seems to exploit them.
Therefore, as talented as he is, I don’t consider him as being a relevant fighter on the world stage, due to the fact that “actions speak louder than words”, because he may “talk the talk” but never actually “walks the walk”.
Demetrius Andrade doesn’t deserve to be praised for his lack of business acumen or self-destructive tendencies. Other fighters aren’t “ducking” him, because he’s rendered himself irrelevant.
He does himself no favours whatsoever.lefty wrote:I'm not missing point. It's just that you were being a little disengenous by making it seem that it's purely Andrade dodging fights.
