I can't say I know much about him, he seems to have a decent amateur record beating a top Cuban to become World Youth champion. He was also European champion. I read one article that said he was unbeaten in 75 fights, not sure if they meant he never lost a fight or had a stretch of 75 unbeaten fights before losing, anyone know?

Anyhow I think he's only 18 (or just turned 19), 6'1" and already a light-heavyweight, one to keep an eye on if he keeps himself grounded.

EDIT. As well as being World Youth Champion his CV included a European title, 10 Multi Nations Championship victories, four British titles, seven Scottish crowns, six Western District titles and a Golden Gloves competition in Serbia.

I was impressed with the performance.

I think the lad has a promising future. How far he goes is highly dependent on whether he lives the life.

But saying that his promoters lifestyle is perhaps not a shining example of the way to go

I think he’s a future champion. I’ve only ever seen and heard good things about him. He will have some temptations ahead, he’s on good money but is very well looked after. I see him training every day on instagram and I know folk who spar him that say he’s a beast. Very shifty and slick, hits like a mule etc. One to watch. That guy he hammered wanted no part of any punches after the first couple landed.

I wonder what weight he will end up as, if he’s 18/19 and a LHW already he will only get bigger, can’t see him being a HW though

First time I see him on Friday night. Paid up fan on the bandwagon Looking forward to seeing him again

Of the three who debuted, he looked the star.

I doubt it too. I reckon he will go for 168 title first.

In my humble opinion Heavyweight should be 100kg (220lbs) plus.

Yes I think they should review it again, maybe 210lbs (15 stone) though, the only problem is the gap between LHW and CW gets bigger.

In Taansends day dream world there are ten divisions, the lightest being under 50kg & the heaviest over 100kg. Then eight spread out evenly in between.

That would certainly cut out all the 'light' or 'super' weights where you only have to put on 3-4lbs to move up a division. It makes me laugh when people like Mayweather say they are 5 weight world champs when in old money he was a two weight champ (lightweight and welterweight).

What's next for Willy?

The big three are all tied up.

Morrell & Smith meet in a few weeks. Ramirez defends against Richards in June. I'd like to see Ramirez (if he wins) fight Khataev later this year.

So what do Willy do? People ain't going to be rushing to fight him right now. Does he go overseas & meet someone like Najee Lopez or Khalil Coe? Or go back to the domestic scene?
