Can a bout in the WBSS end in a draw? I thought I read something about that not being a possibility.

No mate there's actually a fourth judge that would have the final say if any bout ended in a draw. Not sure how it would work if 2 went one day and 2 the other though.

Well it would be a win for the one who had the first 2 judges going his way - it is 3 first, so unless that 4th judge calls it a draw, then there would HAVE to be a winner - there will never be a 2-2 scenario.

You wouldn't need a 4th judge's input if that happened

Anyway I thought they'd adopt a countback, so that whoever won the 12th round wins, or 11th if the 12th was a draw etc....

I'm assuming it would still show as a draw on the respectives fighters record though?

The 'winner' would just progress with the draw.

Goes to a countback and whoever took the final round.Keeps them fighting to the end,no cruising behind your jab in a close fight which is obviously good for us lot.

don't think so, Doug De Witt V Tony Thornton was a draw and a 13th round was fought with De Witt winning which is on his record as a W

Thats harsh in my opinion, a result should be a result regardless of the implications.

Superb knowledge though, I can only imagine how brutal it was for them to face a further round in a winner takes all style.

That's a good thing about the WBSS, no draws

they also had draws in the espn tournament a few years ago and it went to an extra round and is down on boxrec as a loss for the losers. lenroy thomas and the romanian who replaced fury against parker both won in that way.

but that actually had an extra round. jeff ford-kris something ended in draw in prizefighter and ref decided winner w/o extra round, and that is on boxrec as a draw. that is more similar to what wbss doing.
