New graphics, new music, new fighter interviews....but no new season haircut for Dempsey - man, he looked like Gnasher from the Beano last Friday.

Sky boxing is worse than the BBC by a country mile. Sky dont have any controll over their promoters and dont have a say in there matches. Sky would show Calzaghe vs Andre Thysse cause it has world title plastered all over it. Sky bosses dont listen to the fans and allow mismatch after mismatch after mismatch. actually i think calzaghe v thysee is more better than calzaghe current fight.

Sky's coverage is lame these days. Not only the headline fights but the undercard matches are often these undefeated youngsters battering guys with more losses than wins. SHITE.

At least they show their fights live.

Whats the point of cutting rounds out of big fights? Joke

BBC has had it's fair share of mismatches too.

Sky shows good fights as well. They show much more than BBC so of course we'll see a few mismatches. Just don't watch them if they bother you that much.

Sky is so crap I don't bother watching it anymore!... the 'fights' are so predictable and often laughable that it makes WWF Wreastling seem competitive in comparison!... RIP Boxing! .

It annoys me when people say things like 'if it bothers you don't watch it!' because the thing here is these people are ruining, well correction, HAVE RUINED! THIS GREAT SPORT!!!..... many boxing fans today don't know what a real world title fight is! they go to the pub get bladdered then stagger to the arena to watch there local boy make his 16th defence of his world title against someone more used to fighting in a lower weightdivision.... the local boy wins after building up a bit of sweat and then everyone goes home happy!..... what goes on SKY now is not boxing and certainly not world class boxing... if you want to see true world class then pick up some title fights from the early 80s or before.... the difference in competitiveness and excitment will astound most people. In Britain at least now home of the tinpot title true world title fights are in reality far rarer than they were 20 years ago... what today passes as a 'world title fight' here would barely make an area title fight in the 70s!... this is the truth!... :x

I agree. But why complain about it... lets face it, it's not going to change. The fans, especially the manc fans, are the ones who make it possible. I say don't watch it if it bothers you because its not going to chance anytime soon. I certainly don't watch the majority of it but Sky do show some good fights now and again that I do watch. Comparing their coverage to the BBC coverage is like comparing Anne Robinson to Anna Kournikova. No contest.

People need to email and complain to sky about there absmul quality of fights they show. HBO tells there matchmakers to f off it the quality of the match is crap. Sky shouldnt show calzaghe next fight its that bad, he said he doesnt want to fight viet again but its ok to fight someone who lost ot viet. wheres the logic. fighters in the 70's 80's use to fight for world titles against the best in there 10-20 fight. not on sky. the decent matches are put on ppv. where does the profit go to? not buying fights thats for sure.

I'm not having a go at you, but at the same time feel that the fans should complain... it's the malaise of the general boxing fan just accepting his lot that has allowed things ot go this far!. Perhaps it won't change things but at the end of the day people need to be told that boxing is in a terrible state in this country and that the fans are being ripped off!.... I'm not the only one who thinks this... and certainly if noone says anything then things will only get worse. As for the Mancs lot that watch Hatton I'm afraid theyre ast helping and would be quite happy watching Hatton fighting a 8 stoner with a bag of chips!... which I wouldn't rule out somewhere in the future...... 8) :-?

I like this thread, there have been a lot of good points raised, SKY has been on a downward spiral for ages now and it is just getting worse, the amount of mismatches is appalling and something needs to be done.

I really think that if enough of us complained and stopped watching the SKY broadcasts then something might be done!.... FW was definately stung recently with all the critcism of Hatton.... for all the bloody good its done! . :x :x :x ..yet it shows that what fans say has an impact and if we keep saying it only a fool would continue to ignore us!....

It's a worldwide problem but in Britain we are out doing America for tinpot titles... America still have some 'world class' world title bouts... one of the reasons for this is that the tv networks over their have some idea about what makes good fights and many American fans seem to want to watch geunuinely competitive fights for some strnge reason!!!.... :-? :o :o :o  :x  :TU:

You can look at it from 2 different points of view SKY...

1) British coverage is predictable and lame

2) They do show wolrd fights, Hernandez, Mayweather ect

You cant win 'em all... :P
