Not my opinion lads but I think his promoter and especially sky are getting carried away with the lad...
I think Sullivan Barrera would be a very bad match up and I could actually see him doing well.
What did you lads make of the KO?

Good KO over an outgunned opponent. I like Bivol, want to see more of him. I've been a fan for a while now so this isn't new for me.

It'll be hard to say for sure what'll beat him at this moment. We still haven't seen him against an especially noted mover or a particularly big banger. Sullivan Barrera would be both the hardest puncher, and the most skilled boxer he's faced so that'd be a real interesting test of his skill.

think hes overrated and will prove basic at top level. barrera doesnt seem so sturdy but hed be a serious threat to bivol. rob berridge might be his best opponent ffs! he looked to run out of ideas against valera, who barreeras fighting next. watch barrera stop that guy easily.

Haven't seen much of him before. Good footwork, nice distance, obvious power (which comes from the first two). Hasn't beaten a top 20 opponent yet but there's plenty of good fights at 175 although not too many seem to fight each other.
So many fighters at this weight have great KO ratios. Would be nice to get some decent match ups. Too many of the top fighters well into their 30's.

Fantastic punch to KO Broadhurst but Sky and Eddie Hearn really went overboard. You'd swear they had never seen a knockout before. Not long now until Adam Smith is mentioning him as a P4P great

I rate Bivol and have done for two years.
But to declare him the future king of the division is premature. There are guys like Beterbiev and Gvozdyk who don't have belts that are legit punchers, obviously Kovalev is still about.
However 2018 will prove if he is legit or not. His next fight is either Sullivan Barrera or Eleider Alvarez.
Rumour has it that part of a step aside deal for Jack v Stevenson happening is Alvarez v Bivol.
Alvarez is the same level as Barrera for me, so either is a good fight and a legit step up.

I like him. Only seen his last two fights and I'm impressed. He hasn't had a chin check yet, Barrera will take care of that next year.
You guys haven't mentioned his jab!
Single or double, his jab is sharp, fast and hard. A thing of beauty.
Kovelov will probably retire at the end of next year, leaving some big Russian shoes to fill- Bivol might be the guy to fill them..
