I dont mind an anthem if its a world cup game but boxing is more of an individual sport. The concept of national anthems played before fights is very annoying to me. The worst p*ss take is when you have two non american fighters fighting in america and we still have to sit through some tosser singing the yank anthem. They usually butcher that one as well.

I wouldn't miss it if they didn't do it, and yes I find that very obnoxious that America insists on playing the U.S. anthem even when the 2 main eventers are not from here.

Nowhere else does that that I've noticed.

Yes it's a lot of nonsense. It's bad enough waiting for ringwalks, announcements etc without having to listen to minor celebrities trying to find new ways to butcher national anthems . All the delays are detrimental to the fighters' warm ups too.

We usually know who the judges are on the big ones. But I like to know that stuff if I don't already..
I prerecord all fights so I can watch about 1/2 hour behind. It allows me to skip the crap and rewatch the important bits.
The minimum I want is;
Age
Height
Reach
Record
And that is mainly for some of the undercard fighters who may be new to me.
Anthems get my thumb on the fast forward unless it is a hot bird singing it and there might be a chance of nip-slip

The Land of the Free has very strict rules about patriotism. It's doesn't matter what you do in private (dodge taxes, the draft, sue fellow Americans) as along as you appear patriotic in public

Fighters warm up then stand in the ring while some two-bob singer knocks out a usually out of time anthem ....

Get the national anthems to fukk man! They're fuckin tedious! Sitting at 4.30am waiting on some second rate Yank fanny pad I've never heard of to finish warbling the star spangled banner or whatever the fukk it's called! Makes my fuckin teeth itch!

The British national anthem is shit. The US one is always done by some gimp warbler and they react to some booing like you've shat in their mothers hat.

The British anthem is a dirge (I'd prefer Jerusalem personally) but I love the USA anthem, if the fighters want to make their ring walk to their own anthems then thats just great. I think the waiting time should be kept minimal from when the combatants leave the dressing rooms to the actual fight so cutting a lot of the crap beforehand would be good, far too much bullshit goes on and it definitely isn't good for the fighters. It's just gone too far like most things do, the most spine-tingling pre-fight song I ever heard and saw was Ray Charles doing 'America The Beautiful' before the Duran v Leonard rematch in 1980 but its been downhill all the way since then.

The Russian anthem's the only one I like, so aye — bin 'em.

I understand big fights.. i mean like big, well-hyped fights.. like May-Mac, May-Pac, AJ-Wlad, GGG-Canelo..

Even though GGG nor Canelo are from USA, they're both based there and the arena is filled with Kazakh's nd Mexicans anyway..

But yeh, we don't need them.. its a time waster.. its not a team sport.. you can tell boxers jus wanna fight once they're in the ring.. they're itching.. wouldn't miss it if they stopped..
