Garcia sat on the sidelines a long time for a reason which is why he's likely declined a 50/50 split.
The offer should have been more generous than a split down the middle, Linares needs Garcia more than Garcia needs Linares.
That said I would have liked to have seen the fight.

If he got more money for Easter that's just as good.

great so we can go on satisfying the brit obsession with fighting linares and acting like hes the far and away man at 135 and the only non-brit in the division

Good point I noticed that too.
Mind you Linares is a good fighter and it's hard to say from a fans stand point that the match up isn't attractive, there maybe a better one but it's not a bad duel were they to do it.
I still think Garcia would win.

Does Linares need garcia more than garcia needs Linares?
Linares is a 3 weight champ he’s not got an unproven record

You're right.
I just don't think 50/50 will be enough to get Mikey Garcia in the ring, we got to be realistic.

Who would mikey fight than?
Money wise lightweight & super l. suck completly. Davis, campbell, linares or rances are all good boxer but they have no huge followings.
If mikey wants the big $€£ amounts than.only option is 147. I said it month ago and they it again. 147 & 160 are the only divisions right now where you make crazy money. My oppinion is that mikey lost enough time with his legal battle with arum and now in his prime he should aim for the big names.

Lawsuits and the rest of it has nothing to do with me.
Who are you fighting that's it ?
Money ... I'd go 65/35 for Garica at this point.
If Garcia turned that down would look bad on him.

He's saying 3 million for Easter or figueroa. That's more than any fight at 47.

Influence or not ...
Jorge Linares has been a very well known and stylish boxer for 10 years + ... we all know him.
I think it's fair to say he has a well founded reputation.

He would never get that kind of money and thurman vs mikey or danny vs mikey would be ppv and make him overall more than 3

Haymon is a bit desperate. Spence is getting more than that for Peterson. Neither of those other fights are ppv.

F the belts. Garcia is a mismatch against anyone at 135.
Names for the marquee are good, but Mikey score a KO in less than 3.
I would rather see Garcia VS Postol @ 140.

Okay. I dont know the exact numbers, maybe you right.
So Haymon is now playing like jayz and just spraying the millions.

We'll have to see what happens. I know Spence is getting 3.5
