Beterbiev opponent 24 fights 6 KO's

Beterbiev is going to fight Enrico Koelling a fighter I had never heard of until this fight, for a title tonight. Koelling from his record of 24 fights with six wins by KO appears to be a light hitting opponent . This probably means Koelling will have a hard time keeping Beterbiev honest, allowing Beterbiev to tee off without having to worry about incoming, Beterbiev will then have a great victory and every one will say what a beast he his.
When he still really hasn't fought any top competition in like 4 years. At least he is back and hopefully on his way to fighting top competition so we can find out if this once amateur phenom is a pro phenom.
Annoyingly in espn article Beteribiev says
http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/2 ... d-champion
Beterbiev would have preferred to fight Ward for the title but Koelling is who it will be and he is fine with that.
"Ward's a very smart fighter," he said. "I respect his decision [to retire] and I wish him good luck. Whoever I fight I'm ready for a world title. I want to win this belt and then I want to fight whoever is the best in my division."
The reason it is annoying is he is saying he would rather be fighting the pound for pound best fighter right now but instead is fighting a guy a million miles from there, and it seems like is putting himself on Wards level or with zero resume, or almost as if Ward is running from him.

ffs man he was giving ward credit.never said a word about resumes either. ppl like you are why these days nothing can be said without it getting spun into a negative. bert and knoelling are the two highest rated in the ibf hence the fight.

You can't win with some people. If he said he'd prefer to fight Koelling people would accuse him of only wanting easy fights. He says he'd prefer to fight Ward and still gets stick.

Ward would get knocked out if he fought Beterbiev.. The division is chock full of powerhouse players so AW ducked out.. When Beterbiev says "Ward is smart" that means he knew his goose was cooked so he high tailed it out of Dodge when there's a ton of money to be made.

Beterbiev doesn't have enough pro experience, to beat Ward right now...Ward would beat him easy if they fought in the next 3 months.
That said I wish Beterbiev well and hope he comes into his own in this division. As an amateur I watched in him lose to Usyk in great fight.

Just like Krushedner (0-2 v SOGgy) woulda / coulda / shoulda.
Beterbiev has proven nothing, and that won’t be improved upon tonight.

The difference between Sergey and Beterbiev though is Sergy puts his ass on the line and gets in the ring and fights repeatedly and has already had a great career, Beterbviev career really hasn't even started yet.

Ward would beat beterbiev
Tanzio shouldn’t dig at kov though who was very unlucky not to take the first fight

Try to joke and pretend you haven't. It's clear several posters ruffle your skirt feathers still.

Actually, I get to them, and you. Stop pretending I don’t.
Now we have Beterbiev looking very pedestrian against a pedestrian.

You can't really look good against a guy like this that only comes to survive. Beterbiev is doing what he needs to do, but it's nothing impressive. This is one of those. "Win this one, look good next time" kinda fights.

ppl usually overreact to guys unimpressing vs just come to survive opponents. its in fact hard to look good in those. even clear p4p #1 ward was lacklustering vs guys like brand.the uk journeyman scene is based on just surviving and even with a big ability gap it can be hard to really shine against guys who dont throw and are constantly defensive.
but that said i dont think bertibev is as good as kov, gvdzyk, jack, stevenson, etc.guys who are more skilled and can get there first.hed get clowned by ward.

Beterbiev came to this fight to get the belt and shake off the ring rust. In the past 2+ years, he only fought twice (under 5 rounds total).
Injuries, ring rust, promotional conflict, but he still confidently controlled the fight, won all rounds, stopped his opponent and got a belt in his 12th pro fight.
