Duco and Joseph Parker have become sick and tired of Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua's disinterest in negotiating a unification fight with them. So much so that they posted a video today in an attempt to smoke Hearn and Joshua out.

How successful the ploy will be only time will tell.

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has sent a stern message to Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker, as a potential unification fight edges closer to becoming reality.

During the week, Parker's camp released a video saying Joshua has a 'glass jaw' - and that did not please Hearn at all.

In a video message directed at Parker, Hearn called for the Kiwi to step into the ring and test out Joshua's 'glass jaw'.

"Joseph Parker - you are the WBO world champion, you are undefeated," said Hearn.

Anthony Joshua accuses Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker of disrespecting WBO championship belt

"There's been a lot of talk, you believe (Anthony) Joshua is the weak link. You believe he has a glass jaw, if that is the case - you better jump on this opportunity.

"Take this fight, get the win, become the biggest star in world boxing, make your biggest purse by multiple times. Come and join the party in British boxing right now."

Both Hearn and Parker's promoter David Higgins are in talks for a unification bout to take place in March.

Hearn said both camps are edging closer to a deal for Joshua to put his WBA 'super' and IBF belts at stake against WBO champion Parker, in what would be one of the most significant heavyweight fights in recent years.

"We are single digits, percentages away right now, and we have to be creative," Hearn told Sky Sports UK.

"We have to look the revenue streams. We are already talking about potential venues, potential dates, so it's a good sign.

"I believe they want the fight. They have done a good job on Anthony Joshua, because his message to me last night was very simple: 'Let me at him.'

"He's winding him up, he's pushing the right buttons to get the bite out of Anthony Joshua and Anthony wants to fight Joseph Parker. He wants to do a job on him and we hope it's the next fight for the spring."

Two weeks have elapsed from them supposedly being 'single digits away' and still no fight made.

There are reports varying from 'deal close to done' to 'Higgins not heading to UK until some progress is made in negotiations.'

A bit of a development perhaps?

Arum only a matter of hours ago:

“I give Parker a shot with Joshua. Joshua doesn’t have a chin, man,” Arum said.

“Parker, you can hit him with a baseball bat and nothing happens".

“It seems to me with a little tugging and so forth, they can do 2/3 and 1/3 and that’s what I think is going to happen,” Arum said.

The respective promoters of Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua, David Higgins and Eddie Hearn, are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal for a unification fight between the pair early next year.

Higgins says Hearn has made a grave mistake "feeding Joshua to Parker" saying he is "sending his glass goose to the slaughter".

Anthony Joshua says Parker fight is nearly done :

“Negotiations are tough, but, in terms of the love of the sport, I won’t let that get in the way from achieving my goal because legacy is important to me and I think we’re achieving something that…To hold all five belts has never been done before, so I won’t let negotiations get in the way of securing my legacy and what I could achieve in the sport".

“I think we’re 95 per cent of the way there with completing with Joseph Parker.”

“End of March, I would say.

We all wish there were less belts.

But the reality is Joshua holds the WBA and IBF. Parker holds the WBO. Wilder holds the WBC and Tyson Fury is still the lineal champion.

Hopefully by the end of 2018 one fighter will hold at least 3, perhaps 4 of the belts.

Whether some of us like it or not the public still sees prestige in the belts.
