Is Bellew biting of more than he can chew

I saw him piping up on soccer am and he was comparing big Tyson to stavros flatley, I'm one of the few who gives/gave respect to Bellew for beating Haye in March but I think he is talking way too much now I think Fury would ice him that reach advantage is borderline scandalous :yay:

What do you lads think>

He should have tried to make the Bisping fight. Bisping just got starched by Gastelum in 1.

Bellew has no chance against Tyson

In fairness to bisping he's game as a pebble, was out a matter of weeks ago vs GSP,

Hes game for sure. Too many KOs now. He got starched to the canvas badly there.

Bellew is all at sea now isnt he. He got out of cruiser at the right time but theres nothing at heavyweight for cashing out bar a hiding. Id take the Fury fight for the money involved. I still think the Haye fight will happen though

He should just wait for Haye, fury won't be fighting anyway. If they did, Tyson would just grind him down.

It all seems ridiculous-the fact that there are only one or two fights he can take because he’s not a genuine heavy.

Looks like waiting for Haye is his only option really

Parker wants f all to do with him :maybe:

Bellew is looking for a retirement payday, he wants a big fight, he is willing to lose

Bellew is a shrewd cat. He‘s just keeping his name in the headlines. He knows what he’s at.

If he waits for Haye, he might not fight again until about 2024 at the very earliest.

Might be a similar story waiting for Fury too, as he has become a social media fighter who talks a good game on Twitter etc, but just gets fatter whilst not fighting.

Win win for Bellew. Big pay day, in the very remote chance he wins he has propelled himself into the very big time, if Fury beats him he has the excuse he isn't a real HW.

Bellew knows it’s a huge payday - he maybe has 1 or 2 more fights in him.

Fury fight would likely made him 5-7m region.

Nah, I can’t see that fight generating anything like that.

There are a few guys at HW around the same size as him (height and reach). I think the Parker option would be good to watch, l also think Adam Kownacki would be exciting although not the biggest payday. Obviously Haye is where it's at.

Tyson Fury still cannot shift that sore throat...its the longest sore throat in the history of sore throats.

Parkers already expressed no desire to be Bellews reserve opponent

Yes. And I don't understand why that is no longer on the table. 6 weeks ago you could have fairly predicted Parker would have a go at the winner of Bellew Haye. Now it's all AJ Parker which is a missed opportunity for a really decent fight IMO :verysad:

Yeah, I was gutted to see that today. He's not everyone's cup of tea but Bisping has done a lot to put Uk and European MMA on the map.

I just can't believe he was allowed to fight so soon after the brutal ending in his loss to GSP. He needs to bow out now or risk serious damage to his health.

It's a blessing that Bisping didn't get the chance to show his bottle during the fight itself. Gastelum has some nasty, relentless hands.

Penny for Luke Rockholds thoughts after the last few weeks. That complacency cost him so much in the Bisping rematch.

Fair play to old Bisping. Made a few quid over the last few years and rightly so. Now theres a fighter that I don't think anyone dislikes. Honest as they come and game as a badger.

Got absolutely starched though.

Totally agree and what a cracking run he put together at the end of his career. Shook off that horrendous flying knee to gut out the win vs Silva, then ripped up the script against Rockhold (and regardless of Rockhold's approach to the fight, Bisping still needed to have the confidence to throw that left hand to such great effect).

Even the title defence v Henderson was a 5 round mini classic. I'm not a massive fan of the Joe Rogan live fight companion podcasts but the one they did for that fight was pretty damn funny to listen to.

I'm glad there was no animosity there between Bisping and Gastelum, given how it was likely to end. I'm also glad he never had to face off against that unpleasant Yoel Romero.

Yes mate but I would have never thrown him in but thats the sort of man Bisping is heart of a lion hope he retires but I know he wants one more in the UK.

On a more positive note I enjoyed some afternoon combat action felt fun on a saturday haha !

I'll be honest lads it's very refreshing to see so much love and respect for MMA on this forum, I wouldn't say i'm balls deep into MMA (boxing will always be the true love) but the extra variables (kicking and grappling) makes it interesting !
