Nou Camp for Joshua v Parker

Duco Events, who guide Parker's career, are already assessing possible venues to stage the fight, including Barcelona's home stadium which has an attendance of over 99,000.
If this fight is made, and I'm fairly confident it will be made before Christmas - does this sell out near 100,000 in Spain?

No doubt if AJ fights in the UK he will now sell out 60,000+ easy every time - I'm not sure if he would get the big numbers abroad though...

What's your opinion?

Can you name a venure that holds 60,000 or more that AJ v Parker would sell out?

I'm not sure Spain is the way to go..

Why not Amsterdam Arena ( Johan Cruyff Arena)

It holds around 68,000 for concerts, they could get similar amount for boxing. It literally next to London as well. Fans won't have to travel too far.

Has a retractable roof.

Do they even like boxing in Spain?

I really doubt the Nou Camp will hold it for the same reasons as UK football clubs don't like to hold events... They just don't need to money in comparison for the aggro they may get for potential pitch issues.

It won't do anywhere near to Klitschko figures unless it's at Wembley and has an incredible build up. I haven't been abroad for a fight in years though so would love it if it happened.

This question is a flight of fancy.

Watching his interviews, AJ has already said that he would prefer to remain in Britain and why wouldn't he? He's making massive money and doing incredible numbers.

Eddie Hearn has said that he and AJ have agreed they need to be fighting "3 times a year preferably" and one of those fights would definitely be in GB and one would be on foreign shores.
In regards to whereabouts on foreign soil, Hearn has mentioned Las Vegas and Dubai as "MUSTS" - because they are new markets to saturate. And he has also mentioned Madison Square Garden as a contender for a big title defense.

They aren't going to go to a random country and put up there and expect to make massive numbers, it doesn't work that way.

As if Duco Events will have any input whatsoever. They have one job: To get Parker to the church on time.

It is and so is cycling aswell.

I put basketball because it's huge over there. A lot of teams like Barca etc actually have basketball teams in the same coloured kit.

 boxing probably doesn't even make the top 10, you have to fit cycling, bike racing and tennis in along with a bit more football...

USA or the UK are the only viable options in my opinion.

Either building profile for both in the US for the inevitable Wilder unification, or maintaining UK fan bases.

Madison Square Gardens, MGM Grand, O2 arena or a stadium like the Emirates.

Exactly. And they're talking about doing this in March time aren't they (when the football season is still on)? With Barcelona probably still in 3/4 competitions at that point they'll be playing at least 1 home game a week. Seems like a nightmare logistically and as you say, more trouble than it's worth.

The only decent Spanish fighters I can think of from the last 20 years are Kiko Martinez and Javier Castillejo.

I'm sticking to Amsterdam ArenA.. it's what a 7 hour travel for Londoners if they want to drive. Or less than an hour flying from anywhere in the UK..

Can they crack the roof open a bit mid event?
You know, just to let a bit of the "smoke" out. It's not fair on AJ, what with his past and all.

Ridiculous thread.

Seriously does anyone actually believe this fight would be in Catalonia.
