Surprised at this, expected it to be about 66/33 in favour of Lemieux.

I think BJS should be favourite, but I suspect by the fight it will be pretty much be even or slightly in Lemieux favour.

I'm waiting for Lemieux to be favourite and BJS price increases and then I'm going to place a sum on BJS win. I'm predicting s very good BJS performance next weekend.

Generally a good boxer beats a good fighter, not at all surprised to see the odds reflect this.

I wouldn't be surprised if people were hedging their bets with a small stake on Lemieux KO, just in case.

I'm favouring BJS here as well. He's due a performance. Lemieux is a bit basic so if BJS is anywhere near top form he should box his way to a UD with maybe a couple of scares along the way. What BJS turns up is anyone's guess though! I wouldn't bet big money on it but I think he'll get it right here.

If Saunders is in top condition, which I assume he is, I fancy him to get the job done.

Looking back at Leimeux's record and the N'Dam fight is an interesting one. N'Dam was down 4 times so the score cards were wide but in terms of rounds 2 of the judges had it 7-5 Lemieux while one had it 6-6. I think Saunders will take the punches better than N'Dam given that 1) N'Dam can be a yo-yo and was down 6 (SIX!) times against Quillin and 2) I don't recall seeing Saunders get dropped/hurt? If BJS can take the power, or preferably avoid the power, I think he's got more than enough skill-wise to win 8 or 9 rounds against Lemieux.

I think Lemieux will stop him around the halfway mark.

Not when a good boxer gasses halfway through every fight though...

The thing with BjS is this - he gasses, and if you look at the Andy Lee fight, where he should’ve stopped Lee when Andy was hurt... Lee hits Saunders with a half decent shot and then BJS is tentative for the rest of the fight.

That makes me think he’s not as tough as he wishes he was. I believe Lemieux will be well up for the fight, and certainly be confident.

I’m going to have a small bet on Lemieux by stoppage and also to win. Hopefully he’ll wipe the smile off Saunders’ boat as well as swipe off that bit of jam Billy always has on his cheek!

Gutsy call, I actually agree with you. The only factor is which BJS turns up. His new regime seems to be working and that concerns my bet.
I think any savvy betting man will put a wee tipple on Lemieux doing the KO.

But the fighter also gasses and really isn't very good.

bjs probably wins close points. but whats with all the 'he schools him/boxes his head off' stuff ive seen. bjs basically never does that. he starts strong then fades. blackwell, lee, akakov, ryder, totally green eubank, even no punches monroe. all won 4-7 rounds. even that mediocer featherfisted italian he beat for the ebu was giving him a fight until the end. hes not one to be constantly putting down as a schooler. more like a just do enougher.i actually thought he lost to the russian 2 fights ago but cut some slack for the obvious out of shape.

i think peter mcdonagh made good point on the ifl show though. bjs is coming into this fight having recently fought before. less time for him to go off the rails and lose his shape. though i do think hes someone who just naturally doesnt have very good stamina, but same for lemieux, though i think lemieuxs is more down to loading up so much.

DL to stop him will be my action.

think bjs by decision most likely. lem probably struggled to land clean and bjs has a decent chin. watch ndam vs lem and lem really struggles with a moving target, though ndam moves even more and faster than bjs, just cant hold his shots as well.imo important from bjs perspective that he keeps strong in 2nd half.yes lem does tire but he still keeps throwing later on, just more raggedly.being too negative could enable a hometown workrate decision

Be a very tough night for Saunders away from home. Lemiuex won't be wanting to be his mate all night like Andy Lee was.

Lemieux seems to run out of ideas when his power doesn't get the job done, but then Saunders runs out of puff. I lean towards Lem, because he's fought Golovkin and probably won't feel as much pressure as Saunders. I can quite easily imagine him getting outboxed until he wins by stoppage.

BJS is a tough fukker though! Not sure Lemieux has the tools and power to land what he needs to land! Who knows?

I think it all hinges on Saunders' fitness. He should see it through to a points win if he really has committed, else I fancy Canadian Dave to hustle him down the stretch.

I will be putting a few quid on Lemieux. I don’t like BJS stamina. He fights in bursts and still takes rounds off. I don’t think he can avoid Lemieux for 12 rounds.

But playing devils advocate, Lemieux can be outboxed and BJS has the skills to do it. And historically BJS has showed mental strength to scrape a win when under the cosh.

I can make cases for both. Which is a sign of a good fight.
