2017 Boxrec Fighter of the Year

Who do you guys think should be the 2017 Fighter of the year?
I figured I'm not gonna wait for the year to wait since Lemieux/Saunders fight will not create candidates and neither will an Inoue win since his level of opposition hasn't been great.

A dark horse left to fight would be Melindo. Wins against Yaegashi, Budler and Taguchi in 2017 would give him a decent claim to be on a short list, with wins over Yaegashi and Taguchi being in Japan again champions

This poll should have really been created a couple of weeks after the Lomachenko-Rigondeaux bout, due to the inevitable “pendulum swinging” effect found in most fight fans and the media where they go from one vine (fighter) to the next based on the sport’s most recent noteworthy performance.
Basically, a lot of people quickly fall victim to a typical “pendulum shift” as soon as someone in the sport does something big, where the momentum seems to bury the reality.
Simply put, had the dates for the Lomachenko-Rigondeaux and Joshua-Klitschko bouts swapped places in the 2017 calendar year, the Brit would have almost certainly led this poll instead of the Ukraine, simply because it would have been the most recent fight that is still fresh in our memories.
For the record, I'm not suggesting that Anthony Joshua should be fighter of the year for 2017, instead I am suggesting that the timing of this poll will inevitably result in a landslide victory for Lomachenko.

Joshua would also be a good choice, but Klitschko was at the end of the road... Wlad easily could have made 20 or 30 million for the rematch, but knew he'd be prostituting his body like so many over-the-hill fighters do---as if your mental and physical health has a price tag on it... Joshua easily takes Fight of the Year honors because it was a sensational and competitive fight -- the best Heavyweight Fight I've ever seen frankly -- but Fighter of the Year goes to Lomachenko.

I like Lomachenko but in no way is he FOTY. He had 2 decent wins and 1 worthless win.
Rungvisai gets my vote. Golovkin and Santa Cruz get honorable mention.
