Biggest Fall from Grace in 2017: Kovalev, Chocolatito, Rigondeaux, Other?

Thoughts?
Who do you think fell from grace the worst this year? Who will be remembered the most for their loss?

I have to go with Gonzalez.
First fight you could argue.. but the rematch. end. He has dropped to #8 in the P4P rankings for the SuperFly division and straight out of the P4P list..
Rigo, is still a force at 122. Only thing is now, WBA have stripped him. He's still the lineal champion though.

Chocolatito definitely.
James Degale being on the ass end of the Upset of the Year is worthy of nomination too.

probably chocolate. rigo already got tons of crap and quitting just is in line with it. feel his reputation was already a bit negative. kov a lot of ppl question the low blows so the loss gets played down a bit, plus hes already back with a brutal ko.
imo chocolate had biggest drop. from p4p high ranking and almost universally positive regards to looking done. a guy like kov seems to still have it and ppl saying hes done is just boxing fans being negative pudenda and shitting on anyone who challenges themsevles and loses. i can see why boxers are reluctant to challenge themselves when the fans are just going to spit on them and call them overrated and finished if they lose, even to a p4p great like ward.

Kov got a very good comeback opponent and luckily got it sanctioned, so he has a world title. A successful comeback trail.

I think it has to be Rigo! The other two guys at least went out fighting.
Losing is a part of the sport, quitting because your right hand, no your left hand is hurt isn't, and shouldn't be, part of the sport.

I'm a hardcore fan of the sport of boxing and I openly admire world-class boxers, even if things don't always go their way.
I'm loyal to the sport and admire the combatants, which I feel is far better than being middle-aged divorcee overweight socially inept and ignorant keyboard warriors.
Does anyone think I'm being unfair?

Roman did the lower weight complete decline.
One close-tough fight that could have gone either way.
Then he got Manny'd right after.

As far as they should have won, Pac and DeGale need to be at or near the top. Truax was 90/1 at some bookies!
Hughie Fury fell from my graces, that was a stinker he had with Parker. Parker must share some of the blame as well, it's a rare "champion" who can't cut off the ring.
The names in the poll all took on very good opponents and lost. At least they had the heart to make the big fights and not cruise through their careers, you have to give them that much.

Chocolatito for sure has the hardest task of rehabilitation. His climb back to the summit looks the steepest. Nothing is impossible but all the doors are closing fast.
Kovalev and Rigondeaux remain relatively unscathed and are unlikely to encounter such awkward opponents in the future. As for Fury, his place at the summit and how he got there remains in hot dispute. Still has an awful lot left to prove. Not even in the Randolph Turpin class yet.

Chocolatito. He was just destroyed, got KTFO brutally. And Krusher is already on the way back.

It has to be Chocolatito I'm afraid. I really like the little fella, but he was destroyed in the rematch.

My thoughts exactly. Especially Kovalev, who went twenty rounds with Ward and probably won the majority of them. I can't see revering Ward the way so many people do without thereby acknowledging that Kovalev's still right up there. Following up on the blueprint by which Ward beat him is something that virtually nobody around is gonna be able to do against him anytime soon.

ya really good point that ive mentioned before. funny how so many of the ppl saying kov is past it, overrated etc rate ward very highly.a lot of them picked ward to win much easier without any reason for rematch. i mean kov won like half the rounds vs ward and dropped him!
as ive said, the ward fights actually show that kov can be highly competetive all the way up at p4p 1 level.ward is an amazing boxer, boxing fans just love to be negative,

Chocolatito easily.
The guy went from a #1 P4P on many lists to suddenly a faded fighter who many think should retire before he gets hurt.
A great to a washed up veteran all in the space of just 6 months.
That doesn't happen often.

I have a suspicion he uses other boxrec posters knowledge to fuel his own website or blog or whatever he’s doing. What’s his purpose for constantly posting threads, asking for opinions on certain fighters and weight classes etc.

Also the correct answer is rigondeaux. Chocolatito now has two loses to a now established (since defeating Estrada) pound for pound fighter in Sor, not so bad considering his many wars and weight categories conquered.

Huge boxing fan myself. I believe I have enough knowledge on the sport. Don't need to steal other posters thoughts. I love opinions. Nothing more to it. I usually find my opinions are much different to other. I don't have a website or blog. I find that stuff boring. Don't have time for that crap tbh. I'm a workaholic and family man all put into one. Boxrec is the only boxing forum I use. Not that I need to explain myself to you. Don't want negative opinions on myself. I see we've have some new "knowledgable" posters on here.
Thanks for your opinion btw.

Apologies if I’m wrong. I’m a mistrustful person. If you’re doing it simply for the love of boxing credit to you.
