Horn v Mundine - I wasn't going to but....

Sorry, I wasn't going to make this a topic but just read an article where Horn seems to be seriously considering it, as a lead up to Crawford !!
My opinion, go for Crawford now. I believe Top Rank want it on April 21. Do it. If Jeff gets defeated, it opens it up for him to move up a weight - then fight choc as your first fight at Junior Middle. Make yourself a couple of million and move on.
Horn seems hell bent on silencing the Yankee critics, fighting choc will only fuel the critics. We know choc isn't going away, and win, lose or draw against Crawford Horn will still be the biggest name in Aussie boxing for Choc to go after.
I really hope Horn takes Crawford next. I think he can surprise a lot of people in the fight.

Jeff Horn probably has no choice other to fight Crawford next because Bob Arum still has one more fight option left in his contract with Horn. So Horn will probably have to fight who Arum nominates, and as we have seen Arum likes to control perticular titles. The WBO welterweight title being one of his favourites.

The problem for Horn is at present the offer to defend against Crawford is only about $1 mil.

The offer for what would be a much easier fight against Anthony Mundine is said to be worth $2 mil.

Let's be serious here. Horn will likely have a month off serious training over Christmas, and get back into training mid-Jan. Although Mundine is now levels below Horn, Horn will need some kind of training camp to prepare for it. Let's say 6 weeks. If this was to happen... He would pretty much have to jump straight into his training camp for the Crawford fight straight away... :stop:

Horn's biggest priority at the moment should be to allow time for that cut above his eye to heal. Not a chance he fits a fight in before Crawford. Even an easy one like Mundine.

Seems to me that Glen Rushton believes Horn is a chance against Crawford. If that is true he will have a bit of argy-bargy about the money and then sign. If Horn did beat Crawford he will have no obligations to Arum and would be able to screw big money for unification fights. If he loses Mundane will still be waiting and chasing the dollars.

Arum likes to each way bet when it comes to title fights and if he thinks Horn has any chance of beating Crawford will likely sign another contract with Horn beforehand.

I can see why he would do it (money) but not a fight I want to see as a fan, Mundine is a chinny, senior citizen.
