Wilder wins it...if it happens

Depends entirely on what Ortiz has left. If it goes ahead it'll be because Wilder (Haymon) believes the risk level is now within their acceptable threshold, which historically speaking hasn't been high.

Correction: Not entirely because Wilder's power means he's always in with a shout against any fighter who ever lived.

Wilder's haters are hiding under canals now lmao.

Name me more than 3 better boxers than Luis Ortiz?

BUT , but but Ortis is old and already washed up lmao... So is Povetkin.

Ortiz has atleast long reach and he is real big heavyweight unlike Povetkin .

ORTIZ IS THE BEST OPPONENT WILDER COULD FACE. (AFTER AJ) AND THOSE ARE FACTS

Deontay Wilder scores a quick KO victory. It might be relatively competitive prior to the fight being stopped though.

EO Do you think three years ago it would be the same outcome you are predicting? Just curious.

Try to convince that to the legion of Wilder haters.

For many, their hatred stems from the fear that he might actually be the real deal and knock Joshua clear to Ireland.

Already they cling to the timeworn alibi that if Ortiz should lose, it's because he's "too old."

He's not too old when he's knocking out everyone, is he Wilder haters?

He'll only be "too old" when Wilder topples King Kong.

It's the same excuse the Golovkin lubbers have prepared should he put out to pasture by Canelo.

'He only won because Golovkin got old,' they'll predictably lament.

Again, Golovkin wasn't too old when he scored his 21 straight KOs, was he?

Wilder won't win because Ortiz is too old. But he will make Ortiz look old and helpless.

Because he's that good..

I don't hate Wilder. He's exciting to watch and would start favourite to beat almost any heavyweight currently active. The division cannot have too many fighters that can compete for the number one spot in my opinion. I'm not keen on his resumé that has to said.

I agree there aren't more than a few (at the most) better opponents Wilder could face, in fact I've wanted Wilder to fight him longer than I've been posting on BoxRec.

I get what you're saying about the excuse that Ortiz is old now, but the fact is he is old now. Beating him now will always leave open the question "would he have done so three years ago" You can call that "hate" if you want but it is a legitimate question.

Every boxer gets old. Do you think Joe Louis at his peak would have been destroyed by Marciano?

No, different cards. Ortiz looked ungodly slow his last fight. Might be another ko 1.
Yeh, I don't see Wilder letting Ortiz catch a breath.

Ah I see.. Thurman/Vargas would be around the same time though?

I have watched both fighters for many years and I will say that Wilder is very vulnerable to that straight left which is Ortiz best punch. I could see a scenario where both fighters are knocked down in the fight.

I think Ortiz has a very good chin, I don't recollect seeing him unduly bothered by any shot that bounced off his head. He has way better technique and power than Duhaupas who is not known for his speed either.

When you look at how Duhaupas fared against Povetkin (short-notice substitute admittedly) compared to his performance against Wilder, you can see why Ortiz is a risky fight for Wilder even now.

Obviously this kind of comparison is not conclusive in any way but it's food for thought isn't it?

Wilder's team will try to delay until Ortiz qualifies for a free bus pass.

Lol Stivern knocked the fornicate out Aerola in 6 rounds. Does it mean that he will beat Wilder too ?:D

Or you can add Povetkin beating Rahman much faster than Wladimir.

Than some years later Povetkin barely won one round against Wladimir :D

What excuses? Ortiz is overrated, anyone who can't KO Scott cant be all that good.

He's a poor opponent who Wilder should beat but Wilder's handlers will delay it until Ortiz is as old as possible, give Wilder every chance they can.

So Povektin is overrated too because he did not look good in his recent fights and did not stop some two random euro bums?

Who is good than? By your fornicating retarded logic .

MMMM Parker overrated too because he looked like crap against Cojanu?

Who is not overrated for your ugly salty hating ass ?:D Tell us please. Share it with us braindead

Read the last line of my post. Take it slowly so it sinks in. My point being that a slow fighter with a very good chin and modest technical ability, left Deontay looking pretty banged up. Ortiz is getting on in age but he is a better boxer and hits much harder than Duhaupas and is maybe no slower.

Read slowly: This doesn't mean that Ortiz is going to beat Wilder, but he does represent a significant risk.

If that sounds like I'm sitting on the fence it's because I /we, don't know how much Ortiz has left. If I could be sure Ortiz is as good now as he was when he beat Jennings, I would feel very confident in saying Ortiz by KO or stoppage.

Wilder is no Jennings as well. He wont come close to his shots

I do not rate boxers like Perez/Takam/Jennings any high. Just punching bags who can make some good fights.
