Who would win in this match up at heavyweight between Jimmy Young and Doug Jones? What I did't know that Doug Jones passed away a month ago. Young would use his weight advantage and outbox Jones behind his jabs and counter combinations through 12 rounds to take a decision. What is your opinion? Anyways, RIP to both.

Boring close draw but very techy fight.

I don't think it would be boring. Imagine the Young from the Norton fight vs Jones from the Clay (Ali) fight. That would be fun to watch.

Maybe it wouldn't be. I've only watched Jones against Ali and that was decades ago.

Young was too big and strong for Jones... It would be like Terrell-Jones... Ernie Terrell jabbed the crap out of the former Light Heavyweight challenger turned Heavyweight... Terrell was about the same weight as Young, but wasn't in the same class as a pure boxer... Jones also got stopped by Chuvalo -- and was outboxed by Billy Daniels, Eddie Machen, Thad Spencer, and Light Heavyweight Champion Harold Johnson among others.

The Young who beat Foreman outboxes any version Jones... Jones looked real good against a green Ali... Norton nailed Ali pulling back from punches a few times -- Ali did that against Jones too and Doug ripped him a few times... Then known as Cassius Clay, Ali was already a major box office attraction.. Jones needed to beat him solidly to get the W.. It was close.
