If it's Holyfield's promotion I assume it'll be for the WBC Youth Championship or some other obscure title they have.

Yh it should be good for up comers to get ranked.. someone on another forum said it wouldn't attract the big names lol based on the purses.. must have not read the article.. its to get into the top 40.. its not here to attract big names. Should be a good little tournament. I agree, one night would be better kinda like Prizefighters in the UK.

Did you see the purses? They're not getting paid that much.

If you paid attention you'd notice this tournament doesn't even involved serious contenders. If it's a Holyfield promotion it's small potatoes. Maybe Holyfield will become a significant name in Boxing promotion at some point, but I doubt it.
Many a fighter tries promoting when their career is done. Almost none succeed.

I don't know much about the baby leagues, even the champions of those leagues are usually unknown to me. I did read that they were only promising a "WBC rank 40" so it doesn't surprise me they are not that good. Somehow the WBC heavyweight rankings sure are rigged.

All Title Organizations rankings are bought and sold. Not just WBC. WBA, IBF, WBO...all of 'em. They're bought and sold. The titles and the rankings.
That's why the term exists "The Champion makes the title, The Title doesn't make the Champion"

If you think "C-D" level up and comers, the money past the second round is quite good. Plus the publicity for the finalists, it's a way of fast forwarding decent newcomers and cutting out some chaff on the way.

The moneys good for lower level but when I first read about this tourney they were making it sound like some major event. Then I saw the purses

Yeah it's for unranked guys.
Love to see this at HW as well. I thought with Holyfield it would be. Maybe next year.

Will probably produce some pretty lively scraps, given that none of the guys have much to lose, and the structure of the tournament.
