After his feeble showing against lomachenko and the generous ratings the fight generated, i would imagine there's a lot more interest from sbw to sfw in fighting rigo. for years rigo was avoided and overlooked. he missed out on a lot of opportunities that less skilled fighters received. the inactivity and ring rust probably contributed to his injury in the loma fight and his reluctance to battle through the discomfort. now that he lost a fight, and basically got dominated in the process, watch for some of the other champions and rising contenders to grow a pair and finally throw down the gauntlet, especially now they see the risk may well be worth the reward. should make for an interesting 2018, with potential matchups with lsc and the other sbw champs.

I could see guys wanting to take him on more now considering his age.

Leo Santa Cruz or Gary Russell could do well for themselves by beating him. I figure Rigo's name value only holds up to one more loss though honestly. Unless the next one is an exciting loss...and it's Rigo so that ain't happening.

He was more of a burden than a name. Other than hardcore fans, I have doubts anyone would care if Rigondeaux gets beat again. It doesn't do anything for the fighter considering how he turned up against Lomachenko.

He's lost one fight. It'd still look good to beat him for at least one more fight. If he lost his next fight in similarly one sided fashion his name value would drop tremendously from there, but it's still good for one more fight. Particularly against the Featherweights.

Obviously beating him now wouldn't be the same as it would've been beating him prior to the Loma loss, but it's still a solid win. It'd be a better win than most of the guys at Featherweight can currently claim.

I'm a real Boxing fan. I respect both the Blood and Guts guys and the Skill guys. I enjoy the Blood and Guts guys more for the most part, but a highly skilled operator can be a joy to watch as well.

Rigo would beat Donaire again, and has already schooled him. Beating Rigo means more than beating Donaire.

NO!!! ... He won't get any good fights... They'll use his performance against Lomachenko as an excuse not to fight him...

Who wants to get their ass trashed by Rigo now??? .... after he couldn't land a decent punch on Lomachenko...

The one guy I see who might fight him is Gary Russell... He can't get any of the top guys to fight him either...

Unless he goes on to look awful against somebody who isn't coming at him with world class offense, he's still got a bit of time as a significant opponent.

Styles make fights. It's like saying Jr. Jones would be a better win than Barrera because Jones beat him twice. That's not how it is in boxing.

I'd love to see Rigo against Gary Rusell Jr.
