Going from some Japanese reports in...Octoberish Cuadras was offered today's fight but can't find anything explicitly saying he turned it down (would assume Superfly2 vs Arroyo made more sense for him tbh...and he would be coming in with back to back losses anyway which would have had Inoue on the receiving end of sloppy thirds)Naandrew wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 16:11 There is nothing in the above posts which show Cuadras has ducked a fight with Inoue or even been offered one. Cuadras for me is a better fighter than both Yafai and Ancajas.
I'm aware of Ancajas being offered Inoue for NYE. I don't blame him for fighting Conlan in Belfast, as he would have been paid well for a very easy fight. I do have a problem with his Top Rank contract which means he won't fight good opposition for the next year at least.
I hope this time next year we are talking about Inoue as a three weight world champion. Tete and Nery have fights lined up in the early part of 2018 so unless Inoue wants to wait it out he needs a fight in the meantime.
They must have paid Narveaz very good money a few years ago so I do think Tete or Nery v Inoue is realistic next year.
