Froch Hague next week

Is anyone exited about this match up yet? in my oppinion this should be a good fight and although it seems clear that froch should win he will not have it all his own way. I would also be interested to see how his team have worked on his defence as that dosen't seem to have been their top pryority.
Also Eastman is fighting Jorge Sendra on the same bill. Though I am confident in eastmans ability Sendra has the edge in terms of activerty Eastman has been out since January which is a little conserning. As much as he shouts about a fight with Hopkins he should prove he deserves one.

Josh, Froch is fighting Damon Hague (I think anyway). Barney is apparently fighting for the EBU Light Heavyweight title.

My bad I had just read an artical on Barny and always associate him with froch because of the Adamu conection. I ment to wright Hague

Of course people are excited. The Ice Arena will be packed with Notts and Derby people ready for a good bout of boxing. But no matter how hard a fight Hague puts up, Froch will win through without doubt. Hope you guys will be watching..?

Sounds like you're giving them away.
Seriously, Froch-Hague is a piss poor fight, a 'gee' fight. Both men are good mates and we all know Hague can't really fight. Froch is going to carry him for a few rounds, then take him out as painlessly as possible.
Hague should be fighting Wayne Pinder instead...

Good point, at short notice though its reasonable - there have been a lot worse late replacements than Hague. Froch is not all that anyway in my opinion but I dont give Hague much chance.

The Nottingham Arena was empty for Froch's last fight against Mark Woolnough (recently licked by old man Otis Grant). I wonder if tickets are going poorly again. Hague is almost desperately plugging the show in the Derby press by claiming his parents were caught up in the recent hurricane in the Caribbean.
Yeah, right Damon.

True, they even both dropped the puck at the recent ice hockey game at the arena to try and drum up some support. Froch is just not that big a draw, how many out of towners are going to bother heading over there to see this one?
And Froch has hardly endeered himself to everyone nor have the BBC helped his cause with that Cobra bollox.

I'm looking forward to seeing Carl back in action. I had, like everyone else, hoped it would be Dodson in the other corner, but three pull-outs .... enough is enough.
However, was there anyone better Hennessy could have come up with for the British title?
I think it's nice to see a talented boxer like Froch so determined to win a British title.
As for the result : Froch wins a hard and fast affair in 4 rounds.
Don't forget, Eastman's also top of the bill so a good nights boxing.

The last Froch fight was a lot emptier than previous fights but to get over 3/4 thousand he does draw at only 13 fights is still pretty good going. Throw in the fact his fights are on terrestrial he ain't doing too badly. I'm not sure whether I'm going yet....If I do its for the Eastman fight

I don't think it will be greatly competitive, however it is good to see Froch steping up to try to get a real title. Dose anyone know if a defence against dodson is in Froches plans, as if it is then in terms of the domestic sean the are a few potencially mouth watering fights with Dodson, Barny and Magee.
I think that level would do him some good as those fights are all potencially difficult tests for him and will make Europe less of a step up. I have to say I have been a little dissapointed with the lack of improvement in froch since turning Pro, he now seems to punch harder but he hasn't learnt as much as one may have hoped in terms of his defence in the time he has been professional.

Froch has only had 13 professionaly bouts, 10 of whihc were KO.. Wouldn't you say that makes him a better boxer than you guys would begrudgingly admit? He is ranked 4th in GB, with that set to rise after he finishes Hague. The GB no1 Joe Calzaghe has had 37 winning bouts and is only 3 places ahead of Froch, and with numbers 2&3 losing a bout each recently, I think they'd better watch out for Froch over the next year or so. Compare the statistics instead of the bull you all spew, and perhaps you'll understand why Froch is such a brilliant prospect.

Are you by any chance a relation of Mr Froch's? Or are you just too blind to the fact that Froch, while being a decent fighter, has several glaring weaknesses that will ultimately be exposed when he steps up in class. Maybe you also can't see that Froch does not come across as a particularly humble or pleasant individual. You're right of course, he has only had 13 fights, but that tells me that he still has alot to learn, something that he just won't admit.

Are you a relation of an MP form yesterdays fox hunting ban?? Only those can have such negativity. You sir, are well versed in pesimism and severly lacking in the abilty to encourage those who need support. People like you encourage boxers to retreat into a humourless world into interviews and suchlike. If you bad mouth someone why should they comindeer to how you think they should be? Also, Glittermonkey, of course Froch still has a lot to learn, but he has less to learn pound for pound with his boxing skills and your impoliteness and presumtions. By all means put forward your arguement. I am willing to discuss issues with you, but theres no need to bark like a dog. Just be curteous.

If i'm honest, i'm a little tired of being curteous to Carl's tub-thumpers. As you can see i'm more than willing to acknowledge the fact that the guy can fight, and he is a decent British prospect. Decent, but far from brilliant.
Talk to anyone on here and they'll tell you exactly the same thing, he is not going to be a legimate force on the world scene. It's my personal belief that he'll level out around European title class. That is not where brilliant prospects end up. Cotto is a brilliant prospect, that's what Froch has got to compete with if he wants to claim greatness. Talking the talk isn't enough.
I don't think people would be so down on him if he was to admit that there is still some way for him to go. Whenever he's interviewed and someone mentions one of his faults, he goes into his shell and tries to claim that everything has gone to plan. People just can't warm to that type of character. Of course he may well be a different man away from the spotlight, and if i ever should meet the guy, i'll take him as i find him. But until then, he's made it very hard for me, and countless others, to like him.

You can't dislike a guy for those reasons - it's ridiculous.
He's hardly Mr motormouth Toney is he and look how popular he is!

ok lets take a peak at the statistics. Froch has fought 13 fights. the combined records of his opponents so far is W 139 L 313 D 23. only five of those opponents have winning records. On average a Carl Froch opponent only wins once ever 2.5 fights. Harldy inspiring stuff and hardly worth wetting your knickers over. In short Froch has fought no-one. In his only meaningful fight he looked decidely ropey against Adamu, toiling to go the distance and took some very big, very obvious punches and was wobbled.
So where you getting the 'brilliant' prospect thing from? You want to compare statistics, well theres the statistics from Frochs opponents so far. Froch looks decidedly average

I don't like Toney either.
Seriously though, you don't think Froch is mealy-mouthed, aloof, arrogant, conceited, and totally up his own arse?

The difference is Toney has a personality, he's been there and done it. and hes fought live opponents, talks a great fight and often delivers them, sells seats and makes the public want to go and see him.
Does Froch?

In short - no. A little surly maybe. If he is arrogant you can hardly blame him with so much talent at his disposal.

Froch has a personality, is commonwealth champion, soon to be British champion and future world champion, fought solid opponents considering his relative novice status, definitely talks a good fight and delivers as evidenced by his unbeaten record and solid knockout percentage, sells seats (just read above about 3500 thousand) which implies the public want to see him.
So in answer to your question. Yes, Froch does.

When did you turn into Bunce, matchfixer? I never noticed you were a fan of Audley and Froch.
Having talent doesn't give you an automatic right to be arrogant. There are literally hundreds of fighters with more talent that Froch, and few that have the same sort of attitude.

I have to say to tout Froch as future world champ is somewhat premature, (then again Ive been guilty of that with Haye and look what happened there) though I still have faith.
I doint mind caqrl and I do think he gets rough press on here but that spoeople opinions, and they are quite entitled to them.
If he develops and learns then he can gow into being a good firce in the division but lets get him to Euro status b4 we start saying he will "rule the divison"
