"Jeff Horn Agrees To Terms To Fight Terence Crawford Next"

Jeff Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs) is set for his biggest test yet after the WBO welterweight champion’s camp agreed to key terms for a fight against Terence Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs).

An official announcement could come as early as next week for the April 21 clash with the unbeaten American – widely regarded as one of the world’s best pound-for-pound boxers – at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Horn’s trainer Glenn Rushton told AAP he was satisfied with the renegotiated purse and said all there was left to do was sign the contracts.

“As far as we’re concerned, it’s pretty much a deal,” Rushton said. “But no deal’s done until it’s done, so we just have to cross t’s, dot i’s and actually get this thing locked down.

“We have certainly agreed on all the key terms and from our side, it’s a go. Now Bob (Arum)’s got to tidy up some loose ends. We have total confidence in Bob and Top Rank that he’ll get this all locked up and we’ll have a contract in our hands by the end of next week.”

Arum still has to reach an agreement on the terms with Crawford and his team.

Thoughts?

Ahhh....this is a mountain of a challenge for Horn and I saw him clearly beat Pac-Man. Having said that.....Crawford is in his peak and is arguably the best fighter in the world period. Horn will no doubt come to fight and put up a fight. Horn and his trainer also seem intelligent....personally I don’t think it’s enough. I’d even think Crawford may retire him if the beating is significant. Horn had a life outside of boxing, has a brain and is worried about his brain as he discussed in a recent tv interview. Good luck to him, I’ll be supporting him. Fighting as the underdog once again.

Another BS fight from Top Rank. Wasting Crawford's prime with these uninteresting crap fights. Why does the worst promoter always signt the best fighters?

Top Rank bought the promotional rights of Terence Crawford from TKO Boxing Promotions, as Bud's former promoters were going out of business.

Whatever. The fight sucks and so does Arum.

I'm looking forward to the fight, and Crawford putting Horn in his place. Horn does have a belt, so its not like Crawford is wasting his time. It is also not bad for his first fight at the new weight. I'm sure Danny Garcia or others would have loved to take it instead, but we all know this is a TR inhouse fight.

Will be an ugly fight.

Horn has to maul Crawford in order to survive. Stay in the fight. It won't be enough, however.

Have a hunch that Crawford will score one of those signature KO's, a la Pacquiao vs Hatton.

Is Horn getting that $4 million he was demanding? It would be a nice retirement payday.

Crawford is a 16-1 favorite at many books.

A nice fight for Crawford to pick up a belt in his first fight at a new weight. I think Horn gets dominated but not stopped, wide UD, or SD Horn if the fight is in Oz...

That's kind of what everyone said before the Pacquiao fight.

It doesn't suck. Horn is a relevant welterweight and Crawford is just moving up. Solid fight. I'm expecting an ugly one too, though.

Won't be in Oz.

Apparently set for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

after watching horn's last fight, i gotta say, this is gonna be nothing more than a shooting gallery for crawford...horn MAYBE goes 5. thing is, i like horn, but he's no match for anybody in the top 10. danny garcia would murder him...i thought he shaded pac, but more because pac was ole and undertrained than because horn showed anything special.

I have a high opinion of Horn and have followed his career since amateurs. I backed him in his last four fights so he has been very good to me. I think the most likely outcome is a Crawford victory but after watching all the Crawford footage I could on YouTube I only just think that. Horn certainly shouldn't be a nine to one underdog so I had to back him at that price.

For me Horn has been the gift that keeps on giving because he looks awkward but actually has good movement, is really sudden with a very fast right hand lead. He is a very strong welterweight with solid punching power and on top of that he is a lot smarter than the average fighter and thinks well in the ring.

The thing is he looks very unconventional so the average punter keeps underrating him so that's meant better odds for me. If I was pricing the Crawford v Horn fight I would have Horn at about three to one so at nines I have to play.

Horn isn’t going to rough up Crawford like he did Manny the midget. No way.

I think we are all under estimating Horns potential and ability....
He had no chance in he'll against Pacquiao
Well he did and won in my books....
Crawford is a great boxer but not a great Puncher....
Pacquiao was. and yes I Know it had been some time since he scored a KO,
But when he had Horn in trouble he couldn't put him away...
If Crawford gets Horn in trouble he won't be able to put him away...
So it goes the distance.
And I think Horn WINS just from the strength and overall power advantage he will have.
2 years in a row he could win UPSET OF THE YEAR....

ppl say 'oh well ppl thought hed lose to manny to' as if it suggests his chances are good of doing it vs crawford

well

1. crawfords not manny and 2. when the overwhelming majority predict something they are right far more than wrong. there are exceptions but there more likely to be right

I don't think this is a walk in the park for Crawford, but I also don't see the fight being competitive in the scoring aspect of boxing. Horn is going to make Crawford uncomfortable early on, but as the fight goes on Crawford's class will begin to show. Horn has alot of wasted movement, he is going to tire and get stopped cold in the 10th after weathering a couple storms. Crawford wins clearly, but he will have adjustments to make early and will be more than up for the task.

After re-watching some of Horn vs Pac, I think 4 or 5 rounds of the fight will be pretty competitive. Horn's ability to take big punches will decide if he sees the 12th or not. Horn used some dirty tactics against Pac, and it seemed to affect Pac mentally more than anything. I lost count how many times Horn put Manny in a head lock, etc.

It will be interesting to see how Bud's power carries up, because Horn is a good sized welterweight. All that said, I would be shocked if Horn wins more than one or two rounds, and does make it 12 rounds. Crawford will figure him out and dominate him. Crawford can not only showcase skills and movement, but he can really fight when he has to also. Bad news for Horn. Horn seems to me like a rougher version of Chris Algieri.

Horn's relevant like Algieri was relevant. This fight is a colossal mismatch of epic proportions. Horn doesn't have the ability or size over Crawford to dictate a thing like making it an "ugly" fight. We aren't talking about a 5'2" 38 year old Manny here. Horn won't last 7 rounds.

Record padding would be relevant talk if I was upping Dimitrenko as some kind of a monster. If you think I was doing that, shows how clueless you are. You obviously don't know how to judge a fighter with a weak resume then. :bag:

Do yourself a favor and don't respond. I'll always make you look like a complete joke.

Some of you scored the Manny fight for Horn?? God help you..

Despite putting on a fouling clinic that could make Fritzie Zivic blush, Horn still seems to get massive undue credit for that disgraceful decision.

It is deeply appreciated that Terrance Crawford gets to end this bullshit, and end it he will. 50-1 sounds more accurate. TC isn't a washed up part timer who lost the hunger years ago. Horn looked like Sloth after the midget senator was done with him, I imagine Crawford will beat him even worse and retire him.
