Fury's Comeback

Assuming it's against a non-Brit. How many tickets does it sell?
This is all going to depend on opponent and venue.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑14 Jan 2018, 15:14 Assuming it's against a non-Brit. How many tickets does it sell?
Really can't see Fury being anyones undercard fighter , he really believes he's the best fighter on the planet , maybee he would agree on a BJS - GGG card , but not much elsefizzjambo wrote: ↑14 Jan 2018, 15:43 I’d like to see Fury have a bit of a mini-Foreman style comeback and fight half a dozen times this year, though is doubt that’ll happen!
I think he’ll sign with Warren, mainly because Frank will try to build him back up to win, whereas Hearn will build him back up to get in the ring with Joshua, two very different things.
If so Warren will probably use him on his undercards. He’s not a big sell and if he’s going to turn that around he needs to put in some good eye catching performances. He could well be chief support for Warrington/Selby, Flanagan/Hooker and Saunders next outing. If he pulls the finger out he could have fought three times, albeit against very low level guys, by the summer break.
In reality I think he’ll fight Briggs and that’ll be in till Sept. Hopefully not
55,000 Wlad, total sell out Del 2. Haye sold out in 15 minutes, 20,000....lillywhite14 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 01:23 Be interesting to see the level of interest his return garners, and what effect it has on ticket sales.
He was’nt popular at all really, in terms of tickets sold anyway.
I reckon a few more will be interested given his lay off and the situation around it but remember his rematch with Wlad sold fvck all, in his hometown more or less!
It’s ridiculous that he talks about having the Lions share against Joshua. Joshua will sell 70k tickets for Parker.
Wlad got that level of attendance in his fights against Ruslan Chagaev and Eddie Chambers, not to mention David Haye. Let's not pretend that Fury was the draw there.mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 07:2355,000 Wlad, total sell out Del 2. Wlad does big numbers in Germany. Haye does big numbers UK. Tyson doesn't.mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 07:2355,000 Wlad, total sell out Del 2. That would be a good fight for Hughie Fury, I'd expect Tyson to be fighting some kind of "world" name. Something similar to when Vitali Klitchsko fought Samuel Peter after a long layoff.
How many heavyweight fights do you think there were involving both fighters ranked in the top 10 in the last 12 months? The answer is 4 and Joshua fought two of them.
May I ask how Wlad was top 10 when he hadn't fought in over a year and hadn't won in 2 and a half years?Lennox wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 09:22How many heavyweight fights do you think there were involving both fighters ranked in the top 10 in the last 12 months? 11 of the top 50 did not fight a top 100 opponent in the last year, so 39 did.
Only 17 heavyweights fought two or more top 100 opponents in the last year.
Only 10 heavyweights beat two or more top 100 opponents in the last year.
It is pretty dire.
Also the Chisora 2 fight attendance was heavily driven by BJS vs Eubank Jr. That fight really crossed over and, other than recent Joshua/Froch v Groves fights, was the only time in the last few years where people at work were talking boxing.Knucklez wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 07:42Wlad got that level of attendance in his fights against Ruslan Chagaev and Eddie Chambers, not to mention David Haye. The longer he takes to come back the less people are gonna care I'd imagine.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑14 Jan 2018, 15:14 Assuming it's against a non-Brit. How many tickets does it sell?
I hope it does. He is a very safety first fighter since he matured but he’s genuinely charismatic ( unlike Floyd & McGregor for instance who have worked on their image to find fans ) and should be more of a draw than he is.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 11:33 I imagine simple curiosity will make him a bigger draw than ever before in his next contest
How should he be more of a draw than he is? He's become a fat tub of sh*t who hasn't fought for years because he's a lazy and pathetic cokehead, and he deserves to be more of a draw?lillywhite14 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 11:38I hope it does. Marketing helps. Joshua probably made more money fighting Whyte than Fury has during the whole of his career!
Meh, I don’t agree that he should be more of a draw really and so far he hasn’t been.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2018, 11:38I hope it does.
