Who will get better viewing numbers?

So Khan's return to the ring will clash with Frampton v Donaire on 21st April.

Khan will be on Sky and Frampton v Donaire will be on BT, so who will pull the higher number?

Obviously, Frampton v Donaire will be a much better fight than Khan's return, but does Sky have a bigger and better platform?

I'd imagine more people have Sky Sports than BT/BN so it'll be that.

Probably Khan although I'll be at the Frampton fight. I'll catch Khan later on or next day.

SkySports has something like 8 times as many subscribers as BT.
So take a wild, drunken guess.

That's not true. In 2015 Ofcom published a review into the pay TV wholesale market in which they estimated SKY to have 5.5 million SKY Sports subscribers across various TV platforms. It's been widely reported since then that subscriber numbers are down. BT Sport is available in over 5 million homes through a combination of subscribers and wholesale arrangements with the likes of Virgin Media and Eir TV.

Long story short SKY Sports and BT Sports are available in pretty much the same amount of households. It's a straight shoot between the 2.

If true that isn’t borne out by the viewing figures. BT Sport only get a fraction of the viewing figures that Sky get whatever the sport.

You're going. That's wicked. There'll be loads of hot Filipino birds there. They're generally mad for shagging once you get past a certain point.

I've been there. I once spent a couple of hours watching two (previously straight) girls go at it while I just kept doing lines and drinking Grolsch :D

I joined in at the end though.

The next night they came back for a repeat performance but I threw out the English bird & kept the Canadian.

The English bird wasn't happy & told me I was dead if I ever set foot in Lincoln.

I still haven't been there :verysad:

That must be just in the UK?
Sky holds a total of 22,423,000 subscribers worldwide. Gotta be at least 40% of that number would have Sky Sports

Surely the Khan fight will be on PPV so whilst Amir has a higher profile as does the Sky platform will those casuals pay twenty quid?

Frampton meanwhile will be free to watch if you have bt TV so might be closer than we think

Khan won't be Box Office.

Depends who Khan fights.

As I get it Khan will fight Kell Brook at some point in the year ... it's the point of the new contract isn't it.
Lot of people want to see Brook v Khan, who fills in the gap is the question.
Broner's name has been thrown around.

Frampton needs a good fight win and he has a name opponent to do so.
Nonito could be past his best but has an opportunity if he wants to jump start the engine.

Name recognition favours Khan but the quality is there to be taken advantage of in Frampton v Donaire it's up to them.

If true that isn’t borne out by the viewing figures. BT Sport only get a fraction of the viewing figures that Sky get whatever the sport.
That's the power of the promotional tool that is SKY Sports News. Also BT are still just the new kids on the block. SKY have about 20 years more experience in the sports broadcast market.

Yeah I was speaking about UK and Ireland. Worldwide SKY must have about 10 million SKY Sports customers. What's strange is outwith the UK and Ireland they generally don't broadcast boxing. Would be interested
to hear from any German or Italian SKY customers who can tell us if any Matchroom events are shown in their country.

There is a big difference between people who have a channel available to them and someone who actively subscribes to a channel.

I know a fair few people with virgin, but none that have even heard of either Frampton or Donaire. But the majority of people I know who subscribe to sky sports will watch Khan if they are in (the fact their missus' have now heard of him helps too)

For the record, I have Sky and allegedly and (unless Khan ends up fighting Shawn Porter) I will be watching Frampton vs Donaire.
