Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (65-9, 47 KOs), who just turned 49 years old on Tuesday, is going to face Scott Signmon (30-11-1) on February 8th in the main event of Island Fights 46 at the Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida.
Jones claims the contest will be the final bout of his pro career. And tickets are selling fast, says the promoter.
"This is history. And people know it," said Dean Toole, the founder and CEO of Island Fights, to the Pensacola News Journal.

Roy loves a belt, looks like the WBU title is on the line here. I can't see him losing at this level, or anyone caring really...

Jones sounded like he might be hedging about retirement when he qualified by saying "This is my last fight IN PENSACOLA."
So he'll be retired in Pensacola. But his career could continue elsewhere.

He always said he wanted to have his last pro fight in Pensacola.

Roy Jones who was and is an ATG who should have retired years ago. Sigmon is mostly a B side fighter at best. The only question is why? I can't imagine he has pissed away his earnings and he must make decent money on HBO so why keep fighting even if it is a bum like Sigmon. He says it's his last. Lets hope so.

Looking at everything on Sigmon's record. Who all he's fought, how he's been performing, and the fact that he's 30 years old. He could definitely upset the applecart for Roy's farewell here.

It's at cruiserweight. Singmon recently fought around SMW/LHW..

Light Heavyweight last time out. I don't figure a size advantage amounts to much for Roy these days. Unless he's bringing up Jr. Middleweights or something.

Hate seeing a guy like Roy Jones still fighting and scraping round for few quid now at that level.

I think Jones pretty much knows what he's doing.
Since Lebedev knocked him silly in 2011, Jones has played it safe by only taking on safe opponents.
The exception was former champion Maccarenelli, who appeared washed up for years once Hayes demolished him.
Jones misjudged and was brutally KO'd.
But he's had a pretty easy time of it in the 11 other bouts that he's appeared in since Lebedev.
Sigmon might extend the fight some rounds. But I would think that Jones has scouted his supposed farewell opponent well enough to feel that Sigmon poses few real problems.
And of course there's always Pensacola home cooking if needed.
Just curious. Does anyone have a clue why Sigmon has been suspended 8 times by various state athletic commissions since 2012?
Not a good sign.
