Sturm calling out Hops - DLH winner - where's Eastman

And frankly, does anyone care?
Kohl's making some noise about Sturm being the man at middle who can beat everyone. Why the heck isn't Eastman doing more dancing? I know he's got the Sendra match in a couple of weeks but after that he's GOT to start looking up.
Eastman - Sturm? I think this would be interesting, but I'd still pick Eastman. If he does that, then he IS the man who's next in line. At the moment, in the minds of most, he's been overtaken by a guy who just lost to a fat, out of shape light middle.

Eastman WILL be fighting the winner of this week's big middleweight clash.
Trouble is, it's winner of the Scott Dann-Steve Bendall clash, and he's already beaten Dann. But his career has reached a total standstill.

If Eastman fails to get a shot at the winner of Hopkins-DLH, then he seriously needs to consolidate his position in the Middleweight ranks with a fight against Sturm, Allen, Soliman...
How long has Hopkins been number 1 contender to Hopkins's belts, surely to god he should get a shot at one of the BIG boys

Does anyone know if Hopkins/DLH will be repeated during the following week, I'm away when the fight's on.

The WBO will probably end up stripping the winner of the fight a month or two later anyway, so there might be a vacant belt to fight for in a bit (Eastman/Sturm would be interesting, as Coconut said). If DLH does the semingly impossible and wins, I think he might pack it in, meaning that ther'd be 4 belts going spare (super and emeritus titiles not withstanding) Eastman's career has been the definition of 'waiting your turn', maybe he thinks that if he waits a bit longer his options will open up?

If DLH wins no way he retires or if he does it will be fore 12 months before he's back to face Tito or Cotto at 154 or some such....

If he wins, what will he have left to achieve (barring an insane move to S.middle)? Tito or Mosely would be opportunities to clean-up any blots on his record, but do we really need to see those fights again?
OK, I'll rephrase: If Oscar wins I hope he retires. The only realistic way I can see him going from a win over Nard would be down.

Felix is the man in middle because of his age and class and because of his obviuos clear victory vs. de la Tortilla-Kournikova. if Felix wins on Saturday he will get a WBO-title-fight.

I agree that sturm should have got he decsion agianst oscar in my view anyway and good luck to him for that reason I would like him to do well, however I reckon he might be better off waiting til Nard has retired and try to dominate the division once he has gone cos I think hopkins would eat his upright style for breakfast.
Too upright and that big long midriff is asking for hopkins to bring the pain!

Yep, I've read a few reports which have Sturm and Taylor as the 3 and 4 at middleweight. I just don't think either of them have done enough.
J, I think you're spot on about Hopkins - Sturm. I don't think Sturm would land more than a punch a round, but he'd eat plenty.

Howard Eastman seems to be slowly going nowhere at Middleweight which is a shame, the guy is World class IMO.
Like someone elso said the other month maybe he should step up a weight and challenge Joe Calzaghe.

after eating DLTK for breakfast, a bout vs. Sturm brings him the most money. he´s the number 2 in this division. that´s easy. maybe his chances vs. Hopkins are not high.....but anyway all "experts" gave him no chance in his last fight.........which was a clear win

Sturm wouldn't bring Nard the most money at all, he's looking to fight Tarver next from what I understand, which would be a far bigger money fight.
Sturm would get beaten like a gong by Nard, he looked good against a fat Oscar, but oscar isn't a natural middleweight and he looked like he had trained in Taco bell.

Sturm would bring Hopkins the most money in middle because he really did beat DLTK who had maybe 2 or 3 kilos too much. Julius Francis e.g. is fat.
Tarver will lose vs. Thomas Ulrich. and if not, he has too prove first if he is the #1 in light heavy. i doubt that.
More money would be in a fight vs. Roy Jones. But does Hopkins move up 2 weight classes. he didn´t even move up one class to box the darling of Boxrec, Sven Ottke, though 5 millions Euros where offered?

bubi sorry to have a po but please dont mention Hopkins and that man in the same sentence
cant see hopkins going up to fight tarner or jones, he is a middle through and through and odnt think it ould serve him well to move up division at this late stage in his career.
I see a rematch with tito if he beats Mayorga as the big money match.

Eastman vs Hopkins or DLH?
There is more chance of the next time the phone rings on my desk it turning out to be a sex-starved Angelina Jolie requesting I meet her in her hotel room for a few hours of rampant doggystyle action...
Just why the fornicate would they fight Eastman? They have much bigger matchups in terms of PPV contracts to make, and would probably just dump the belt if need be. Of course they won't have to because strings will be pulled... but Eastman vs either of those two? Not a chance.

if Felix would be British you would say the same, come on.

I can see why they wouldn't want to but isn't Eastman WBC mandatory?
It would never happen but I'd like to see Sturm fight Eastman for a shot at the winner because i think Eastman deserves a chance and Sturm was the victim of a crap decision vs ODHL. However if Hopkins win and goes on to fight Tarver that could be great though I think I'd rather see him fight Calzaghe.

as far as i know Eastman is a good boxer but more a european level fighter , he still lost to Joppy who got beaten by Trinidad AND hopkins...Oscar would also beat Joppy imo.
so i think there is no interest for Hopkins or DLH to face someone who lost to Joppy.
on the other hand, i think Sturm vs Eastman would be a good idea, and the winner could have a shot then...

Eastman v Soliman II?

Eastman is #1 in the WBC. If Hopkins wants to hold that title he has to fight Eastman sooner or later .
but it is on the other hand impossible to hold all four titles for a long period. he will give up one or two belts, so Felix and Eastman will get their chances anyway.
Hopkins will make another 1 or 2 fights for big money and then retire. Calzaghe brings no money. he is rather unknown in the states and does he fight outside of Wales? Trinidad is more realistic.

Yes he may be WBC mandatory currently, but he isn't a draw. At this stage in their careers Nard & DLH will want BIG fights for BIG money, not spending their time fornicating about with Eastman.
They would dump the belt before fighting him.
Think about it, what would you do if you were e.g. Hopkins after winning this fight;
1- Fight your mandatory challenger, for sum 'X'.
2- Screw the belt, keep the others, and fight Trinidad/Wright for X + £10m?
You won't see Nard or DLH picking option 1....
