Who's your favourite cult hero? I always had a soft spot for Danny Williams. Bit of an enigma but he could fight and was a likeable character.

I doubt many people other than me remember Leonard Dorin with the fondness that I do. Very entertaining fighter who didn't have a particularly long career in the Pro's, but had some real memorable fights. Most notably Raul Balbi 1 and Paul Spadafora.

This is going years back but as a young fan I used to stay-up and watch the heaps of UK and overseas boxing that used to be on Central.......my local ITV channel.
Wally Swift Jr had a hell of a run as basically Central's house fighter because he was from the region.
Wally literally could not crack an egg but he was super busy, technically organised and canny, very brave and had a top-notch chin as well. His Dad was an ex-champ, added some know-how and was always in his corner.
He was always in a good, see-saw fight because he could not dig but also blocked loads of punches, pumped-out the jab and never stopped working.
Some good wins over Bingham and Tony Collins and he had a couple of top title fights with the aggressive Andy Till.
I think Wally had quite a following and I certainly enjoyed watching him
Central showed Troy Dorsey's fights as well which were always crackers.

Mine were Pat Cowdell and Bomber Graham,loved both for their boxing skills and was gutted when both got ko'd .

Mayorga was always fun, and Michael Gomez over here. I'd be terrified having a pint with them but would tune in to see them in anything.

The Daho one was the shocker for me,Pat rightly schooled him in the rematch though. Ian Nappa - beautifully smooth, slick boxer who operated at least a couple of divisions above his weight class just to get decent fights.
Emmanuel Augustus - Got jobbed on numerous occasions and also fought outside his natural weight class plenty times but a slick, awkward nut job who could bang them out if need be.

Always enjoyed watching Kevin Anderson - the drama in his win against Young Mutley was fantastic. Don’t recall the locals enjoying it in the same way as I did!

Always wondered what happened to him. Kevin McIntyre schooled him twice and he seemed to just disappear. The Mutley win was a cracking win for him. Was behind if I remember correctly then banged him out in the tenth. There was a fair bit of crowd trouble. He beat a past his best Eamonn Magee as well which was still a good win for him. Magee was a hard bastard!
