Linares could beat Mikey Garcia

As most of you veterans of this site know, My predictions are gold. Don't check my history, just take my word. Please? Anyway, after watching Linares put on that masterpiece Saturday Night, I'm beginning to think that Mikey may have a very hard time with Linares.
I can't think of a lot of fighters that can spin out a 5 or 6 punch combo from a variety of angles like Linares. Mikey Garcia is a no frills squared up classic stance type fighter that Linares style works best against because Linares works in the dark corners of traditional punch angles. I wish that he had more pop in his punches and didn't cut so easy but I think that Garcia is avoiding him for a reason.
I've never been wrong with my predictions before but I am interested in hearing yours though.

Didn't you say that Stiverne would beat Wilder, Khan would beat Canelo, Monroe Jr. beats Golovkin, Kirkland KO's Canelo, Pacquiao decisions Mayweather Jr., Klitschko defeats Fury and Bradley would defeat Pacquiao in their third bout?

I like your humour, it's pretty funny!

Dream away.
Linares is an above average fighter (maybe B+) who has yet to tangle and defeat a top shelf quality fighter like Garcia.
Garcia is not avoiding him. That's ridiculous.
They'll probably tangle by the fall.
Linares' chin is a major question mark. He cuts easily.
Garcia will manhandle Linares and stop the Golden Boy within 8 rounds.
There's nothing all that special about Jorge Linares.

It's not completely out of the question I suppose, but I'd favor Mikey pretty confidently.

Well it looks like i'll be accepting bets on another fight. Boy i better go get some paper together to cover all of these bets that i'm making.
I love how you all criticize Linares for his lack of opposition and resume but have you even looked at Garcia's flimsy list of foes? Garcia, when not sucking his thumb in the corner about a contract that HE signed, can be found cherry picking titles left and right. The guy is all talk and I can't wait to see Linares shut him up. IF Garcia will ever agree to get in the ring with him. During negotiations recently, Linares gave in to every request by Garcia only to have Garcia run scared and fight some bum with a belt.
This is the kind of person you guys love ha? This kind of boxer entertains you? Not me. I'm the smartest person in the world.

You don't have to love a fighter to recognize his talents. That's somewhat of an immature conclusion.
Fans support Garcia because either A) they're impressed with his skills B) Linares appears to be far from an elite boxer or C) a combination of the two.
I feel that Garcia dismantles Linares in routine fashion. Too much pressure and too sharp and accurate with his punches.
Linares has never beaten a true high caliber fighter. He's been stopped on several occasions. All of his defeats have come via KO.
Freddie Roach, who trained Linares for a spell, said that the fighter lacks professionalism, a work ethic and is very lazy.
He also criticized him as a quitter in the ring who panics at the sight of his own blood.
Not a ringing endorsement of Linares.
If all that is true, expect Linares to quit in his corner, as he did against DeMarco, when Garcia mercilessly pounds him for 6 or 7 rounds.
And I don't have to love Mikey Garcia to come to that conclusion.

Oh boy, I fancy Linares has a reasonable chance over Garcia.
Garcia looks great when a guy stands in front of him, Linares dosent do that. Linares sticks and moves, works angles, gets off first, and is not silly enough to stand and trade.
It's a fight I'd like to see get made.
While I wouldn't put money on Linares to win, I would give him at least a 35% chance of out pointing Garcia over 12.

Broner didn't stand in front of him, neither did Burgos.

Valid point
Burgos isn't at the same level as Linares though, and neither is a 2017 Broner.

Lomachenko beats Linares. Mikey beats Linares. A rematch with Campbell would be a tough fight for Linares.
I think he could beat Easter, he should go that route, unify titles then cash out against Loma.

Hard to say. Linares hasn't fought anyone since his return. Broner at least has that competitive match against Granados at 140 lbs., which is better than anything Linares has been able to do post-return.

I really don't rate Easter, I think a lot of people beat him. He is like the Joseph Parker of the LW division

This original poster has a dormant organ in his skull, but Linares v Garcia is not a foregone conclusion.
Linares seems to find a way to win in the last x amount of years.

He finds a way to win against B level fighters.
Garcia ain't no B level fighter.
He's in a class that Linares has never experienced.

Surprised to see someone impressed with Linares' resume. Berchelt has a better resume, and he's a better fighter.

Linares' resume isn't all that good, to me it is how he beat the last 1/2 dozen guys. Maybe I rate him too highly because of it?
Anyway, he has exceeded my expectations. I thought he was done after his last KO loss.

linares is good but remember that mitchell was life and death, and the first crolla fight was like 7-5. campbell i felt was 8-4 though many had it very very close
he deserves respect and imo is the top lw after garcia, but i dont think hes on that elite level with garcia and loma. hes the next level down, which is still very good.
maybe around the same level as an on his game saunders

Spot on. He looks a more polished fighter now.
