I've heard after the Haye V's Thompson fight, Haye spent the night in hospital as a precaution, is this true ??????

His hair was seriously injured when he hit the canvas. That's worrying for any young primadonna.

I had a horrendous hair injury once. I really don't want to talk in depth about it, it's enough to say that there was nothing that could be done, and i had to have most of it amputated.

Haye will be back. Thompson was too big a step-up for a man with just 10 fights behind him. It's important the Bermondsey man gets some rounds under his belt now. Stick him in with Paul Bonson, Ismael Abdoul, Garry Delaney - anyone who can take him into the later stages of a fight. Haye has to learn how to pace himself.

Just goes to show what would happen to Maccarinelli if he dares to get in the ring with Nelson doesn't it.

Absolutely, it was all too much too soon, he can come back from this defintely.

I'd hardly call Haye a loser. World Amateur silver medallist and fought Carl Thompson in his 11th fight. Don't see that many prospects prepared to take such big strides so early.

I dont think its the same at all. Maccarinelli has done the 12 rounds and I'd say he'd be much better at pacing himself, he boxes his way to knockouts doesnt just come out throwing everything he's got as Haye has been doing so far in his career. Haye can learn from this but needs to get rounds in as has been said.

cut the guy some slack at least he take son 50/50 fights unlike other that we all seem to be endlessly moaning about, you cant have it both ways.

Exactly, Haye can come back and he will. I think this loss will do him good in the long run as he now realises he cant just go in there winging and win every time. In his first 11 fights he has had no fight plan other than go out and throw power shots so all part of the learning process. He thought he could just go out and KO everyone now he knows he needs more to his game.

If Enzo is stupid enough and warren lets him get in Nelson will destroy him, most people hate Nelson but he's so slippery Enzo will get ko'd, will it be a Unification fight? , Enzo and haye need to slow down and get a bit of experience at lower level.

these days its become imperitive to have a winning record. this winning record can occasionally have advers aspects for example never really being tested, presented with easy fights and taking no risks, guarding this winning streak at all costs. it almost appears that if you lose a fight at any stage fo your career then your finished. at least that sometimes seems to be the mentality.

but in defeat can come positives. its how a fighter comes back from the defeat and what he learns from it. in the case of David Haye I think he's intelligent enough to realise where he went wrong and knows what he has to work on. its difficult to learn an awful lot winning a succesion of fights in a couple of rounds. To lose your 11th fight is no disgrace particularly against an old warrior like Carl Thompson.

Losing can be as much part of the making of a champion boxer as winning. Not that Im advocating throwing young fighters to the lions all the time!!

Hayes chin was badly exposed though. People will fight him with more confidence from now on, and I think Haye will frequently get tagged and knocked out throughout the rest of his career.

Opponents will know that one good shot is enough to stop Haye.

Sadly, someone who I thought was the UK's top prospect has been throughly exposed....

What?????? Haye took loads of big shots from Thompson, how on earth did it show him to be chinny? If he was chinny he would have been stretched out flat, Thompson is a big puncher.

exactly sorry Loftgroov but on this occasion I disagree mate, haye took plenty if anything his chin has been re-assured if such a thing can happen from a stoppage.

the worry was that he took one on the chin anfd bang thats it, he certainly didnt do that. he just punched himself out. THe more worrying thing is that he managed to do it in five mins of action.

Yeah, the same guys badmouthing this loss will be the same guys bad mouthing Audley for keep fighting bums.
